Sunday's The Setting Sun is a programming block on The Midnight Channel which features 4 episodes of a specific anime series each Sunday of the month. The series is determined by a series of nominations and voting so the community has a voice in what we watch. We feature our content every Sunday afternoon at 3:00PM PST (-7:00 GMT).​

Here's how it works.​

Over the course of a day or two we will nominate 5 series.
Once we have a 5 nominations we will vote on which one to watch.
The winning series will be shown every Sunday, 4 episodes a week.
When the series starts we’ll make a discussion thread on the forum.​

1. You are free to show up at any point before or during the showing. For preparation purposes if it is your first time I suggest showing up an hour early to become acclimated with everything. We also play Persona 4 music in the channel before the movie starts, gives everyone a chance to gather, chat and get situated in the channel. The series will start at exactly the time posted. We will not be waiting on anyone and we will not postpone the time if you are late.

2. We will not pause the series at any point while it is playing unless there is a technical difficulty. Make sure you go to the bathroom, eat and have have a drink ready before the movie begins.

3. The Skype conversation will be strictly text only. Please do your best to stay on topic while discussing. The Skype chat is only for discussing the activity while it is playing or anything relevant towards the group itself.

4. Do not nominate something that has already been watched.

5. Max length for a series should be no more than 26 episodes not including any OVAs or specials.​

After a little adjusting of the schedule we'll be moving this block to Sunday Afternoons in an attempt to get more participants. The next showing will be November 10th 3:00PM PST -8:00GMT

 

Remember, the day for our weekly series moved from Friday afternoons to Sunday afternoons. Join us this Sunday at 3:00PM PST (-8:00 GMT) for episodes 4-6 of Baccano! Only on The Midnight Channel.

 

Baccano is finished. I will be opening a voting thread shortly to determine what winter themed anime we will be watching for December.
