The Scars Of The Dead...

The sound of rain and thunder shook the small house. The rain ran down the window panes, creating small rivers on the glass surface and pooling below in a giant puddle in the muddy flower bed. James stared outside at the treeline wondering when his dad and mom would be back, they had been gone for at least ten minutes since they had all heard the sound. It was a terrible, haunting howl. At first it sounded like a timber wolf but James was quite sure they weren't this far south. He began to believe that they weren't coming back and he thought that was a stupid thing to think, this wasn't a horror movie, this was real life, of course they would be back. The front door slammed open and he jumped, his heart in his throat. "Dad? Mom?" He called in a quivering voice. No answer. He thought he heard heavy footsteps coming from the hallway between the kitchen and bathroom. Stop, he chided himself, this isn't the horror shows. But he was wrong. Deathly wrong. He turned back toward the window, was that his dad? A dark shape was staggering toward the house. The footsteps grew louder. Ok, this is really freaking me out, he turned back around and froze. Standing in front of the doorway was a hulking man, his whole face twisted and warped. Blood stained the front of his over coat and jeans. And his mouth. James noticed how fresh the blood was too. "Uh..." He began. The man smiled crookedly and stepped forward on unsteady feet. "Who are you?" James stammered. The man didn't say anything, he just raised a finger and gestured the boy to hush. The scream started again, this time closer. Another one answered the first. And than another one, followed by another one. Soon, that was the only sound James could hear, even above the pounding of his heart. He stumbled back, his legs coming up against the table. The man opened his mouth as if to speak and threw his head back and howled in answer to the rest of the screams. James screamed now to, what the hell was this? What was going on? The man laughed and reached for a crowbar that James' dad always kept by the doorway, and advancing slowly on crooked legs, walked for James. Still laughing and laughing and laughing... James stared at the man and wondered what was going on. Was he a... zombie? no, there was no such thing as zombies. They were just made up. Or were they? the man kept coming, James kept backing up until he hit the wall. This was bad, really bad. That was when the window was shattered inward, glass shards sprayed across the room and burst into even smaller fragments. James jerked his head toward the window, blinking against the spray of rain. Something was coming in. A bloodied hand grabbed the window seal and started to pull the rest of its body in. James was certain he heard someone or something crying. That was when the man struck: a hard blow right across James back that left him completely immobilized... He only had time to close his eyes as the man fell upon him, tearing at him with already blood soaked hands. James screamed and then the darkness claimed him... So this was what it was like to die... he had time to wonder.




Ok, I know this has nothing to do with anime but this a spammer's haven, right?

Thank you, but I seem to always get writers block faster than anyone I know, so it takes some time to make up a good one lol

 

well its good practice to write what comes in mind in online role plays. that could help clog out that block of yours.

I'm moving this and your other short story thread into Creative Design, where not only art can be posted, but also short stories, long stories, etc can go. Plus your post count rises in that section, so if you have a story to share, Creative Design is the section you want to post it in, especially if you want to be critiqued on the story. The Asylum is more or less for spamming and your post doesn't increase. Its more or less meant to take all the randomness that would be considered spam, and contain it to one section without the "spamming" rule being fully enforced for posts that would otherwise get infractions.

I also think the RP club could help you write such as generate ideas or styles of writing, or maybe help you fine tune your style of writing. Creative Design will let you express your stories and get critiques, so you can always hop back and forth when you want to try something you picked up from the RP Club and get feedback.

Lastly, the starting part of the story looks interesting, but I'm not much of a horror fan. So I'm reluctant to see (or read) the conclusion of the short story in your post.
