The Promised Neverland Anime Reveals Cast, Staff, Character Visuals

The official website for the anime adaptation of Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu's The Promised Neverland (Yakusoku no Neverland) manga unveiled the main cast, staff, and 13 character designs on Friday.



The main cast includes:

• Sumire Morohoshi as Emma
• Maaya Uchida as Norman
• Mariya Ise as Ray

Mamoru Kanbe (Elfen Lied, The Perfect Insider) is directing the anime at A-1 Pictures' CloverWorks studio (PERSONA 5 the Animation). Toshiya Ono (Gatchaman Crowds, The Perfect Insider) is writing the series composition, Kazuaki Shimada (Mahou Shoujo Nante Mouiidesukara.) is designing the characters for animation, and Takahiro Obata is composing the music.

Viz Media is serializing the manga in its digital English edition of Shonen Jump, and is also publishing the volumes in print. The company shipped the third volume on April 3. Viz Media describes the story:

The children of the Grace Field House orphanage have their happy lives upended when they find out they're being raised to be fed to demons. Can they escape their fate before it's too late?

Shirai and Demizu launched the manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in August 2016, and Shueisha shipped the manga's eighth compiled volume on April 4. The manga has 4.2 million copies in print in Japan.

The manga won the Best Shōnen Manga award at the 63rd Shogakukan Manga Awards in January, was nominated for the 11th Manga Taisho awards in January, and was nominated for the 22nd Annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in February. The series also topped the 2018 edition of Takarajimasha's Kono Manga ga Sugoi!(This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook's list of manga for male readers in December.
