The Princess's Hidden Power

It's the Feudal/Medieval Era, where the smallest thing may insight fear and contempt. During this time there is one household that within its own motives, has protected the land from fearful, and terrifying demons. The household's sole purpose is to protect the Lord's daughter and ensure a 'good' match for his only daughter. The reason for this is, while the Lord's wife was carrying her child (the Lord's youngest and only daughter) a 'Seer' came to her, and told her that the power of their child would be controlled by her husband, and that fearful demons would covet her power for themselves.

Since the birth of the Lord's daughter, he has surrounded her with people who could protect her, and stand against any demon who would try to take her.


The Lord's house consists of the following:

The Demon Lord

OOT: I decided to edit my characters a bit

 

Cereza walked out into the garden, and sat down on one of the benches. She stared up towards the nearly clear sky with a gentle smile on her face. Her blue eyes seemed to catch the light of the sun, and reflect it back, almost changing the color of her eyes to a very light pink.

OOT: Let the games begin lol

 

Ran was running around the residence trying to find Lucius, the Captain. She couldn't find him anywhere at all, she had been to all the quarters and even to Prince Turin's practice grounds, recklessly asking of him to let the captain know that she was searching for him.
Tired from searching for over an hour, she decided to take a break in the garden, to her surprise Princess Cereza was sitting on a bench.

"How can the princess be so careless? Does she not know of the dangers of being outside?" She thought.

Walking up to the princess, she greeted her with a bow and a smile.
"How are you today, Princess? Is everything okay? Do you need anything? It is odd to find you out and about without an escort."
She could tell that the Princess found her formality with her unpleasant. They had been childhood friends since the princess's family took her in but she just couldn't shake away the vast difference in status.

 

Rena trailed close behind the Princess. "M-Mistress please wait for me!" She tripped and fell on her face. "Owie...." She looked up and saw one of the elite guard, Ran. "Oh gosh.. I can't be seen like this in front of Miss Mao!" She thought to herself. Rena then quickly jumped up and dusted herself off. "M-Miss Mao!" She bowed "What brings you out here?"

 

Leon was cleaning the main house as he usually did, it was his job to keep the house clean and ordered after all. He watched as his lady left the house followed by Rena and bowed polity as they left. After a few more minutes he was done with the cleaning and waited for his next assignment.

OOT: Short post but that's because I had no clue what to post. I've never played this kind of character before >.<

 

"That's it...just a little closer..."
I mutter to myself as I watch the falling leaves get closer and closer.
"And...there!"
I quick draw my sword and slice one of the leaves out of the air, cutting it clean in two. I sheathe it and get ready to do it again.
"Let's see...I think...you're next."
I draw my sword and slash at another leaf, again cutting it in two, before returning my sword to its sheath once again. This is one of my personal favorite training regiments, so I've gotten pretty good at it. I've been out here for...I guess an hour now and I've lost track of how many of these leaves I've caught but it must be at least a few dozen, with no misses. But just as I'm about to pick out my next target...

"Lady Cereza! Lady Cereza!"

An all-too-familiar voice is calling out. He sounds pretty serious, too. I can take a guess as to why. Mao came by just a few minutes ago asking about him, so he's probably out looking for Cereza. Again.

Lucius, captain of the princess' elite guard, opens the door only to see Turin calmly looking at the tress, sword in hand. He takes a moment to catch his breath before calling out to him.
"Master Turin...Have you seen Lady Cereza anywhere? I seem to have lost track of her! Please, if you've seen her at all--"
"Calm down, will you? You sound like you're about to have a heart attack."
Turin turns around around casually waves to Lucius.
"How many times have we been through this? One. You don't need to be that formal when nobody else is around. Two. She's probably just hanging around somewhere, like the garden or something."
Lucius looked like he wanted to say something back to Turin, but he simply let out a heavy sigh.
"If you say so, Mas--ahem, Turin."
"There, don't you feel a little better now?"
"Well...if I may be honest, no, not particularly."
Turin laughs loudly.
"Man, you really are too uptight these days. Getting elected as captain must really be getting to you, huh?"
Lucius looked slightly indignant.
"W-well...I only wish to carry out my duties to the best of my ability, as a loyal servant--"
"Didn't you say you were looking for Cereza?"
Lucius let out a gasp, looking quite flustered.
"Y-yes, of course! You said she might be in the nearby garden, right? I will check there right away!"
"While you're at it, keep an eye out for Ran, she was looking around for you. You should've seen the look on her face! It was almost as priceless as yours."
Lucius sighed.
"He really is enjoying this way too much..."
Keeping these thoughts to himself, he gave a quick salute.
"Yes, my lord!"
He left in a hurry, making his way to the garden.

I can't help but laugh when I see Lucius running out of the room. For a second there, I thought he was gonna trip! But, man...he really is taking things way too seriously lately. Not that I don't take things seriously, but...if you let things like duty and honor roll around in your head too much without ever taking a break from it all, you'll either get burned out or you'll snap like a twig. I'm sure he'll figure that out soon enough, he's a pretty smart guy. Always has been, ever since we were kids. I look up to the sky, feeling a little nostalgic.
"Simpler times..."
Well, I think that's enough reminiscing. I turn my attention back to the falling leaves and take a fighting stance.
"Just a few more minutes. Then I'll call it a day."

As he made his way to the garden, Lucius called out to Lady Cereza, almost in a panic.
"Lady Cereza! If you can hear me, please say something!"
He stopped for a moment to catch his breath.
"This is bad...I haven't even been the captain for a full month and I let something like this happen? Again...?"
He shakes off the thoughts of self-doubt that were about to creep into his mind and starts running through the halls again.
"Lady Cereza! LADY CEREZA!"
Although the garden was still some distance away, his loud voice no doubt carried through the halls and could possibly be heard outside.

With a smile on her face Ran wiped off a speck of dirt still on Rena's face. "Hello, Rena. How are you? Were you running too fast, again?"
She laughed a bit and answered Rena's question, "I was actually out looking for Luci.. the captain. I had a message I was assigned to relay to him."

Surprised to hear Lucius's, piercing voice calling out for Princess Cereza, Ran decided to run towards the captain and ease him out of his misery. She had some important message for him, anyway. Bowing once again, to the Princess, she took her leave. Running through the twisted corridors until she finally caught up with the captain. He was all breathless and in a mess. It honestly surprised her sometimes how much stress he took because of his promotion.

She giggled and started talking, "Lucius, calm down. Princess Cereza is in the gardens and her attendant, Rena, is with her. There is nothing to worry about." She directed him towards a seat near the wall and motioned him to sit down. "She's safe. But I've been looking all over for you. The Lord has asked to meet with us. We best hurry before it gets too late. I've been assigned to guard the Princess's door at night."

 

Archie was content. He'd endeared himself with the kitchen girls, and was happily gnawing on a leg of lamb with scraps still clinging to it. He would occasionally let out a soft, contented growl to try to illicit a reaction from them too, which, more often than not, it did.
Yep, he though to himself, this is that life.
After a while, he decided to take a quite little stroll through the halls, carrying the bone around with him, wagging his tail and occasionally getting friendly around the female staff.

 

Rena bowed towards Ran as she left. "Th-Thank you, Miss Mao!" Rena then moved to sit next to the princess. "A nice day, Right Mistress?" She looked towards the sky and sighed. "Reminds me of the day your parents found me... All alone stuck in the woods as a mere kitten." She rested her head onto Cereza's lap. "I was so happy when they found me and brought me in..." Her eyes started to water. "I don't know how I got in those woods, But I'm glad your parents took me in, I could have died out there." She sighed once more. "Being your family's maid is the least I can do, But I will do anything for all of you after they saved my life."

OOT: *points to the sky* Exposition!

 

When Ran caught Lucius in the hallway, he took a deep breath and let out a heavy sigh of relief.
"I see, thank goodness for that."
His left eye twitched and he looked slightly annoyed.
"...Which means he was exactly right. That figures."
He then stood up straight and looked directly at Ran, trying his best to look dignified and authoritative with some success, though probably not as much as he'd hoped.
"Good work, Ran. Your reconnaissance skills are superb."
Just then, Ran mentioned something about a meeting.
"His lordship asked for us? Then we'd better get going--"
He interrupted himself by clearing his throat.
"What I meant was, we must make our way to his lordship's hall with all haste!"
He scratched the back of his head and mumbled to himself.
"...Or something like that. Did that sound like something a captain would say?"
He shrugged and started walking towards Centurion's room with Ran.
