The JDO Chain Novel

So, I feel like writing another story with a bunch of other authors from the forum. So yes, I'm essentially "reviving the JD Fanfic". I'm calling it a chain story because it wasn't really fanfiction in the first place and I really enjoyed the chain aspect of the story. If you can suggest a better name, please do. I'm not attached to "JDO Chain Novel/Story" as a name for the story.
So I'll need two types of people, authors and characters. I'll be the first author. There are a couple of rules this time around that I'm going to make before hand. If you're an author, you can't be a character. This is to stop Mary Sue-ing. This means that I'm trying to prevent people from writing "and then Shogun did this super awesome thing, and I guess the rest of the cast was there as well. Then Shogun did 10 backflips while everyone told him how awesome he was. Nobody knew his deep emotional angst, let alone understand it, because he had lost more than they had ever had. However he was totally not emo at all, and was the nicest guy you ever met". The next rule is you can't direct what your character does or says or looks like. It is all the author's decision. Hopefully the role is something that you enjoy, but if not I'm sorry, if we bowed to everyone's wishes, chances are we'd have 20 heroes and 2 villains. It also prevents indirect Mary Sue-ing as well.
I may edit the story for grammar, but if a person makes a plot point, I and every author should endeavor to follow it to the best of their ability (though plot twists should still be available).
So post if you want to be included as a character or want to post as an author. People are busy so authors have two weeks before they need to submit the next chapter.

I like this idea. I could try to write for it or be a character, whichever you want.

I think I may start up the first chapter when we reach at least 10 characters on the list and 3 authors. Heizengard can be an author if he still wants to when we get to that point. If I can find somebody who's going to be sure they can do it, they might go ahead of Spor in the potential author list.
Might lower the number on characters, but you'd be surprised how rarely you introduce characters alone.

 

I joined the site right when the old JD fanfic ended, which was sort of sad since I would have like to have joined in. But that was then and this is now.
I'll volunteer to be a character. I would offer myself as being a author, but I've somewhat been away from story writing for about two years now. Really need to get back into writing through.... who knows, maybe I can draw up whatever the author decides what my character will be.
