Studio Deen Confirms Aguu -tensai Ningyō- Tv Anime Adaptation Of Chinese Comic

An official teaser website and Twitter account opened on Friday to confirm that Studio DEEN (Junji Ito "Collection", Hozuki's Coolheadedness) is producing a television anime adaptation of Yichun Jun's Chinese comic Aguu (Devil Dolls). The anime, titled Aguu -Tensai Ningyō- (Aguu: Genius Dolls), will be the studio's second collaboration after Reikenzan with the Chinese company Tencent.



Text on the teaser website reads, "I want to rescue you from Aguu."

The domain name "AgUu-Anime.com" was registered under Studio DEEN on April 16. Hajime Kagami, who describes himself as a "Chinese manga creator manager," revealed on Twitter on April 13 that the series would get a "video" adaptation in collaboration with Studio DEEN. Yichun had confirmed on his Sina Weibo Chinese social media platform account on April 12 that the series is receiving an adaptation.

Yichun launched the comic on the Tencent Comic website in 2014, and it has more than 9.5 billion views as of April 16. The spinoff comic Kyokugen (Utmost Limits) debuted on the Japanese horror manga website Osoroshiya in October 2016.

Studio DEEN and Tencent's television anime adaptation of Guo Wang Bi Xia's (lit. His Majesty the King) popular Chinese online novel and comic titled Cong Qian You Zuo Ling Jian Shan (lit: There Was a Spiritual Sword Mountain) premiered under the title Reikenzan: Hoshikuzu-tachi no Utage in 2016. The sequel television anime series Reikenzan: Eichi e no Shikaku debuted in 2017.
