Secret of Mana remake producer Masaru Oyamada said in an interview with US Gamer on January 25 that Square Enix is considering releasing the game for Nintendo Switch. He explained that development on the title began before the Switch was announced, but the staff have received a lot of requests for a Switch version.

"So, the voices are heard," he said. "We're aware that people are desiring a Switch version, and we will make an effort to see what is feasible in the future, though nothing is confirmed or planned."

Square Enix also recently released the original Secret of Mana (Seiken Densetsu 2) game, along with the first and third Seiken Densetsugames, for Switch as part of its Seiken Densetsu Collection in Japan. Oyamada confirmed that Square Enix has received a lot of requests to release the collection in the West, and said, "That's something we will do our best to hopefully achieve." However, he said there are currently no definitive plans.

The original Seiken Densetsu -Final Fantasy Gaiden- (Final Fantasy Adventure) game debuted for Game Boy in 1991. Square Enix releaseda remake of the original game for PlayStation Vita as well as iOS and Android devices in Japan in 2016. The English version of the game simultaneously launched for iOS and Android devices under the title Adventures of Mana.

Square released the Seiken Densetsu 2 (Secret of Mana) game for Super Famicom (SNES) in Japan and North America in 1993. The remake will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC in Japan, North America, and Europe on February 15.

Square released Seiken Densetsu 3 for Super Famicom in 1995, and the game has never shipped in the West.
