I really related to this piece because I am overwhelmingly shy. It has a romance tag, but I'd more call it school and coming of age.

 

Hiyokoi I've only ever come across its page once before on MAL and didn't write the name down. Really how was it? Was it good because you could relate or was there more to it than that.
But hearing that the romance tag is seemingly inaccurate is great news for me, more shorts to search when I get up.

Akai Ito is a very powerful piece with no dialogue about the Red Thread of fate.

 

I got around to watch Hiyokoi and it wasn't too bad of a childhood romance story, see I could like the romance genre if it was more like this instead of the bullshit we end up getting. Hiyori was too sweet, and to think Red relates to this short for being overwhelmingly shy is kind of amazing to me since you've never given off that feeling throughout your time on the forums. I managed to rate it 7 so it went beyond what I thought it would.
Hiyokoi 2012 just sucks in comparison, it seemed more like a flash anime, and while I read comments saying that they preferred that appearance I actually hated the change.

Akai Ito I came across by chance back in 2012 so after rewatching it I remember exactly why I rated it 9, the simplistic animation style is quite effective and unique giving it its own charm that I would like to see more done similar to. The story progresses quite nicely and some of the transitions are impressive.

 

I didn't even mention Hiyokoi 2012, because well, it wasn't worth mentioning. There was none of the character development that made Hiyokoi such a sweet story. It was just romantic dribble.
(and I am super shy in life. I don't like to speak. Here I can plan my thoughts so they come out coherently and I feel more confident in my words. I love the internet because I can let all the thoughts tumbling around in my head out instead of hiding in the corner.)

The more I think about this piece, the more I like it. It is an analogy for oppression and feeding "the Monster" but it is done in such a way that the viewer can relate it to their own life, whether it be strict parents, work or government hampering your freedom. I can't find any information on it, but one of the comments refer to Water Brain being a Chinese piece and is actually a political commentary.

 

Okay so I finally got around to watching Water Brain and it was really good, the animation is particular I was impressed with. At first I was wondering what was with the opening sequence because there were no giant monster as said in the description right behind him.
You can interpret that in so many different ways that one way or another I think it could relate to everyone.
