This year's 23rd issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed three more cast members on Wednesday for the Food Wars! The Third Plate anime. The three characters will appear in the 17th episode, which will air on May 6.

    The new cast members include:
Food Wars! The Third Plate is the third season of the Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma anime. The show's second cour premiered on April 8. The second cour focuses on the "Tōtsuki Ressha" (Tōtsuki Train) arc of Yūto Tsukuda and Shun Saeki's original manga. Crunchyroll is exclusively streaming the anime worldwide outside of Asia.

The first cour of the third season premiered on October 3.

Yoshitomo Yonetani is returning to direct the anime at J.C. Staff. Shogo Yasukawa is returning to oversee the series scripts, and Tomoyuki Shitaya is returning as the character designer. Tatsuya Katou is returning to compose the music. Luck Life (Bungo Stray Dogs, Cheer Boys!!) is performing the new opening theme song "Symbol," while Fo'xTails (Dimension W, Handa-kun) is performing the new ending theme song.

The manga previously inspired two television anime series. The first anime season aired for 24 episodes from April to September 2015. Crunchyroll streamed the first anime adaptation as it aired in Japan, and Sentai Filmworks licensed the series for North America. Sentai Filmworks also licensed Food Wars! The Second Plate, the second anime season. The 13-episode series aired in July-September 2016, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired.
