Pierrot Plus Animates Sabagebu! Shōjo Anime

The April issue of Kodansha's Nakayoshi magazine is announcing on March 3 that Pierrot Plus (Beelzebub, Tegami Bachi: Letter Bee) will animate the anime adaptation of Hidekichi Matsumoto's Sabagebu! manga. Masashi Kudo (Bleach, Hayate the Combat Butler! Cuties), will design the characters. In addition, the cast for the anime will be announced at the AnimeJapan 2014 event next month.
As previously announced, Masahiko Ohta (Yuruyuri - Happy Go Lily) will direct the anime from scripts by Takashi Aoshima (Kotoura-san).

The story of the original manga revolves around Momoka Sonokawa, a girl who transferred into a certain girls' high school. The club she ended up joining at school was the "Sabagebu!," a club that conducts survival games.

Matsumoto began the manga in the magazine in 2011, and Kodansha shipped the 5th compiled volume in September. Matsumoto's Honto ni Atta! Reibai-Sensei manga was also adapted into an anime in 2011.
