Idea Factory/Design Factory's Otomate brand announced that Norn9 - Norn + Nonette, its PSP otome game for female players, has an anime in the works. Otomate made the announcement at the "Norn9 with Ark & for Spica" event at Tokyo's Nakano Sun Plaza on Sunday. The event also announced the sale of character image songs produced by composer Kevin Penkin and a PlayStation Vita port of Norn9.

In the game, the player can choose between three different girls as the heroine, each with their own three male characters to romance. A certain song transports a boy named Sorata Suzuhara to a different era and place.

When Sorata regains consciousness, he finds himself standing in an unfamiliar place — an old town, awash with sepia tones. The scene is exactly like the Meiji and Taishō-era pictures he had seen in textbooks. He encounters three girls and nine young men in this world, and embarks on a journey in the skies with them and the giant Norn airship.

Teita illustrated the game's art, and Minoru Akiba (Trigun: Badlands Rumble, School Rumble, Pokémon franchise) handled the background art. Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy franchise, Blue Dragon, Ah! My Goddess: The Movie, Guin Saga) scored the game's theme music, while Kevin Penkin composed the background music. Nagi Yanagi performed the opening theme song "melee," the ending theme "many universe," and the song "Sunadokei wa Sora no Sora" featured in the game.

    The cast includes:

    Ayumu Fujimura as Koharu
    Yuuki Kaji as Kakeru Yuiga
    Hiro Shimono as Senri Ichinose
    Takuya Satō as Masamune Tōya
    Ayahi Takagaki as Mikoto Kuga
    Daisuke Ono as Natsuhiko Azuma
    Mitsuki Saiga as Sakuya Nijō
    Koji Yusa as Itsuki Kagami
    Asami Seto as Nanami Shiranui
    Noriaki Sugiyama as Akito Shukuri
    Tomokazu Sugita as Ron Muroboshi
    Hiroyuki Yoshino as Heishi Otomaru
    Atsushi Abe as Sorata Suzuhara
    Kenji Hamada as Mystery Character
    Mitsuhiro Ichiki as Setsu Takishima
    Nagi Yanagi as Aion

Otomate and Idea Factory released the game for PSP on May 30, 2013.
