Sony unveiled a new trailer for Square Enix's Final Fantasy XV PlayStation 4 and Xbox One game during its press conference on Monday. The final portion of the trailer reveals a "Final Fantasy XV VR Experience" demonstration, showing a first-person perspective with the player controlling Prompto, wearing Sony's PlayStation VR headset.

Neither Sony nor Square Enix confirmed if the mode will be playable within the main Final Fantasy XV game, or if it will be a separate game.

Final Fantasy XV will ship on September 30 worldwide.

The PlayStation VR headset is set for release on October 13 for US$399.

Apart from the game's standard edition, Square Enix will also offer the game in a Deluxe Edition and Collector's Edition. The Deluxe Edition will come with a steelbook case, a copy of the Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV film, and three DLC items, including: a Royal Raiment outfit, a Masamune weapon, and a Platinum Leviathan recoloring of the Regalia vehicle. It is available for pre-order for US$89.99.

    First person VR JRPG!?
No more fiddling around with camaras for "zooming in"? on character undergarments!?
Oh wait it's an all male cast.

Opportunity missed. Imagine the outrage! The new age of scantlly clad warriors in chainmail armor would quardrople with the intro of VR! They would sell like hotcakes! (Speaking of which do hotcakes still sell?)

Uh...you know what forget I said anything
