The April issue of Shogakukan's Ciao magazine is announcing on March 3 that Nao Maita's shōjo manga 12-Sai. (Age 12) is inspiring its first anime. The 12-Sai. ~Kiss, Kirai, Suki~ (Age 12: Kiss, Hate, Love) anime will be on the Ciao Ciao TV! DVD bundled with the May issue in April, and it will adapt the first chapter of the manga.

The story begins with Hanahi, a sixth-grade girl who is neither an adult nor a child. She deals with issues such as accidentally witnessing her homeroom teacher kissing, and worrying about experiencing physiological changes before her friends. The manga depicts a 12-year-old girl's innocent worries and first love.

Maita launched the Age 12 manga in Ciao in 2012, and Shogakukan published the third compiled book volume last November.

In the same May issue of Ciao, Maita (Konkon x Honey, Ano Hi, Bokura wa…) is starting a new Age 12 arc called 12-Sai. ~Yakusoku~ (Age 12: Promise). In addition to this 38-page chapter with color opening page and the anime DVD, Ciao's May issue will celebrate its "Age 12 Matsuri" campaign with a Age 12 bonus supplement and a Age 12 illustration on the cover.

Besides the 12-Sai. ~Kiss, Kirai, Suki~ anime, the issue's bonus Ciao Ciao TV! DVD will include the last installment of the live-action cross-dressing idol series Dolly Kanon ~Mirai wa Bokura no Te no Naka~ (The Future Is in Our Hands), and a new installment of the Chibi Devi! ~Super e Ikō~ (Let's Go to the Supermarket) supernatural comedy anime.
