The staff for the anime of Waka Kakitsubata's Akkun to Kanojo (Akkun and His Girlfriend) manga revealed on Friday that the anime is getting a second cours that will premiere on June 29 at 10:30 p.m. on AT-X. The staff also revealed a new key visual for the second cours.

Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs under the title My Sweet Tyrant, and describes the story:

The childhood friends Akkun and Nontan are boyfriend and girlfriend. But Akkun is always saying ridiculously harsh things to Nontan as well as being cold with her and is frequently moody. But that's just how Akkun expresses his love for Nontan. This is a high school love comedy about Akkun and Nontan, who doesn't seem to care at all about how Akkun acts toward her.

The show has five-minute episodes and premiered on April 6.

Shin Katagai (Neo Angelique Abyss) is directing the anime at Yumeta Company. Yuka Yamada (Aikatsu!, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid) is in charge of series composition. Motohiro Taniguchi (Yuruyuri Nachu Yachumi!) is designing the characters.

Kakitsubata launched the manga in Kadokawa's josei magazine Monthly Comic Gene in June 2013, and the manga's compiled book volumes have more than 480,000 copies in print. Kadokawa published the manga's seventh compiled book volume last November, and will publish the eighth volume on June 27.
