The website of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex director Kenji Kamiyama began streaming the live-action independent short film "Silicon;BootDrive" on Saturday. Kamiyama contributed to the story which was written and directed by A.T. The two previously collaborated on the opening of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and the live-action preview for 009 Re:Cyborg.

The story takes place in 2020, five years after a meteor known as "God's Needle" landed off the coast of California. The meteor brought with it an infectious virus that began changing the human race into its next form of evolution.

I know most people aren't fond of live action, but I find anime la adaptions intriguing. Anime fascinates me because animation is an blank canvas for imaginative stories. When you try to translate those stories to cinema they most always fail, but I keep hoping. Although "Silicon:Bootdrive" is not at all GIT SAC related, it is still interesting to peer into the mind of the geniuses who worked with the anime. Granted, the acting is pretty bad, but the concept and visuals worked for me.

Yeah it is interesting. I know there was some interest from Hollywood in a live action GITS movie. I would love to see another Blade Runner-esque movie and GITS would certainly fulfil this. Interesting to see this though.

Can't wait for all the new GITS releases to come out. Looks really interesting.
