    English: Kuroko's Basketball
    Synonyms: Kuroko no Basuke

    Synopsis
Kuroko's Basketball The Teiko Middle School Basketball Team. The class that produced three perfect seasons in a row, with five once-in-a generation players, called "The miracle generation". There was another player who all of them respected... A legendary 6th player. An up-and-coming power player, Taiga Kagami, is just back from America. When he comes to Seirin High School, he meets the super-ordinary boy, Tetsuya Kuroko. Kagami is shocked to find that Kuroko isn't good at basketball, in fact, he's bad! And he's so plain that he's impossible to see. But Kuroko's plainness lets him pass the ball around without the other team noticing him, and he's none other than the sixth member of the Miracle Generation. Kuroko makes a pact with Kagami to defeat the other members of the Miracle Generation, who have all played basketball at other schools. A battle of light (Kagami) and shadow (Kuroko) begins!

Haha like you even need to ask @ovyda, I think currently it is almost just you, Bato and myself watching this although I may have seen a post in what are you currently watching about someone finishing the first season so who knows exactly.

If you guys are up for discussing it, I'm game just make sure to @ me sometimes if it looks like I've missed it.

Anyway that tie between Midorima and Kagami in the end, can't believe we had to wait  week just to find that out. The flashback is kind of amusing, blonde Hyuga trying to be a delinquent is definitely not something I expected from this character's past.

I was sort of expecting that the game will end in a tie, but that there is no OT... what a bullshit. Only in anime such thing happens :D

I must say I was kinda disappointed by that flashback. Don't get me wrong, it was interesting for sure but I mean it was supposed to be a story about Teppei's knee injury and instead we've got a whole backstory about the origin of Seiren basketball club/team. I don't really think that's related... Oh well, at least we've got to see different side of Hyuga :D I must say that color doesn't fit him at all!

@Supernatural-Knight I am glad you listened to me and watched the first season in time ^^

I just found out who Hyuga is. Never would i have guessed he's Zoro's character. I'm terrible with names so i didn't know his name.
Anyway, i agree with Ovyda. I am disappointed in this flashback. At first it even felt like the timeline was getting screwed up. I mean, they said it happened this summer right? It feels like the team has been together for so much longer..

Before this flashback evry ep was pretty much perfect. That last match, Kagami vs Midorima.. Oh god what an amazing match!
And @Ovyda, i was gonna ask you, does this tie without overtime ever happen anywhere in real basketball? I guess you answered that already. It's so stupid. I wanted overtime and see who wins it.. It was just too good to end it like this.

It does happen only on two occasions:

    1) Friendly match.
    2) There is an knockout format that both teams play two games and the one with better +/- result moves forward. Basically one game at home and one game away. Sometimes it happen that first game ends 80-72 and the 2nd game ends 75-83 and they go into overtime... it looks really strange and illogical, so this format is rather old and barely ever used now. Well you should understand this one if you compared to Champions League knockout round.

Yeah. It seems they don't use the away goals/points advantage rule though. But it's kind of stupid. I like the best of series from the NBA playoffs the most. You play a few at home and a few away.

That's how usually it's done everywhere, but Japanese... well they are slow on basketball rules I suppose :D I mean they portray the game as if referees don't exist or that fouls barely ever happen. When somebody stands to make free throws in KnB, to them it's something incredible and unusual, while in reality it's one of the most often things... :D

The series would get kind of boring if instead of using the time for a run and gun play or a couple of Kuroko passes, they instead spend the time on free throws, I know what I prefer to see out of this show. With that being said I am kind of glad that they finally shown a free throw, even without watching the sport I know how common they are so to of been able to go about 30 eps without a single occurrence is quite bizarre.
I also can get onside with the no extra time thing, they said it was a special occasion since the games were to be kept short so I guess that means that if any of the other teams tied that'd be it as well. Disappointing sure but nothing I'm too concerned about.

Now Bato about your earlier remark about Zoro's VA, yeah sorry but he isn't Hyuga his character is Shoichi Imayoshi who I believe was a member of one of the schools without a generation of miracles on it that they versed sometime in the first season. I don't really remember much about him even after reading his bio but here maybe it will help you.

Anyway after that episode the past has finished being retooled, now onward to other games.

Flashback episodes are the bane of my existence, they make me physically agitated and strike out violently aginst small children and the elderly.

Aside from that i think its been such a consistent series.

Practice > play match > win a couple of matches > play against someone from the gen of miracles > intense as shit match> win/lose > repeat.

But the story is good, the time between matches has solid comedic moments and the action in matches is top notch quality. Although I've found in this season they've been having a few more cliffhanger episodes which is kind of annoying and flashback episodes aside, this is one of my top series for this season, probably second to Log horizon and followed by Strike the blood.

@Supernatural-Knight, Yeaah i realised that too. My mistake because i knew Zoro's VA guy isn't on Seirin team. Wouldn't make sense if he helps creating the team and then leaves for a different school :D

About ep 8, that foul on Kiyoshi was so freaking dirty... Those people should be banned from the sportsworld.
I did like how they made Seirin and the generation of miracles cross eachother.
And crushed in the remaining matches without Kiyoshi... Shows what an impact he made in this team.

Well he's the Iron Heart after all :p

The most epic moment was obviously when we saw GoM walking out together. I liked their comment, especially Aomine not satisfied with points while it was freaking crazy number already :D

I think that nasty guy has the same ability as Atobe from Prince of Tennis which is noticing opponent's weak spots and use them for their own advantage. The difference is that this guy try to injure them severely.

Episode 9 was DISGUSTING. Still a great episode but so so awful :s

How can the refs not see anything? I know these opps blocked the refs view, but all these fouls not being seen? They are doing something wrong...
Currently it looks like Kiyoshi won't be around so long anymore now...

Well... anime having no common logic is what makes it interesting usually. Obviously ref's should have noticed that something is wrong (always leaders get injured vs them) and it can't be possible to always make it happen when ref's are in the blind spot. I mean ref's should be able to read the atmosphere... everyone sees it, but not them :| I was a bit frustrated about this earlier, but now I am fine... KnB never followed basketball with common sense :D

I knew the last match was over but I still wanted more…..

Well that was definitely the dirtiest game of basketball I've ever watched [was one of the only ones I've seen, almost all have also been anime] but the skill of injuring opponent without the ref seeing was great in itself. Imagine being able to get away with everything, yes extremely poor sportsmanship but it is impossible yet this team can.

And so to finish up the dirtiest match ever we have a bath house episode right after it. Riko x Momoi face off, go Riko don't be discouraged. Is it wrong that I liked seeing Kagami killing Hyuga by washing his back? And speaking of Hyuga I didn't think he'd be one of the guys to go along with peeping, although Riko entered their bath and destroyed most of them I think it was yet another bonding moment for the team.
    And washing number 2.

Then the training regime of playing cops and robbers in the mountains, sounds nice considering how nostalgic that game should be to everyone. But Kagetora embarrassing Riko by revealing what the young her said about marrying him, and being the only one allowed to see her naked.

Also Bato did you notice who voices Kagetora? None other than Takumi's VA, I've been hearing him everywhere since I started Initial D.

Really? SK, really? Riko fan? :eek:oo Momoi all the way for me. I dislike Riko's self-confidence. In my eyes she is trying to make herself look like she knows everything and she's some really great coach... Not even close. Actually girls are never good coaches... they can coach girls team, because they are women and understand women better, but coaching men is just not good enough. Obviously Riko is put as coach here to play the comedy role (like now hitting guys for trying to peep) or just because they don't want to have only guys anime.

I do agree on Kagami brushing Hyuga's back scene tho. It was really funny, especially 2nd time :D

As for the training in the mountains... I actually had to do this myself. Well not in the mountains, just some little hills during basketball training camp. Great memories ^^

Oh god hahaha we find another character with Takumi's voice. And again i didn't notice when i heard it. This VA is really good.

I enjoyed this episode. Also thought the scene of Kagami washing Hyuga's back was hilarious. And.... Seirin vs Aomine.

@ovyda, yeah I really do prefer Riko over Momoi. She is a character that isn't solely for comedy or fan service, and her self confidence I welcome since it is a nice change from how female characters are so often portrayed. Whether she is a good coach or not is irrelevant to liking her more than Momoi.
Although one thing is for certain, she is a lot better than their alternative [no coach at all] and her efforts are in the right place at least.
