It would help if you list some of your preferences here, I don't really like AP myself but having no ratings on anything doesn't exactly help me determine anything for you to watch.

There is one must watch if you like seinen shows with adult references [see this is why I need some of your preferred genres] but regardless everyone that isn't some little kid has to watch RAINBOW, it became one of my all-time favourite shows, it has a greater display of friendship that puts shounen series to shame, and it offers a very realistic tale that isn't afraid to show anything about the lives of some of the Japanese in 1955
