Maintenance justdubs.org and justanimeforum.net

    Long story short, I ended up being able to purchase justdubs.org. We are changing domains, yet again because of the following reasons.

    1. According to the search analytics in Google's webmaster tools the term justdubs or just dubs is still highly searched and as a result gains a lot of inorganic traffic for us. Using the new domain could help with SEO and taking a crack at getting some of the traffic jd.tv stole from us.

    2. The false phishing warning is hurting this site. Our ads are disabled while this is going on so we can look perfect for Google and attempt to get their review approval. Overall clicks on the site went from an average of 600-700 clicks a day to a now 200-300 per day. Traffic is down, revenue is at a stop. The likely culprit is flashx. So in the meantime our traffic could become nonexistent if take the time to remove all of the flashx links.

    In addition to the new streaming domain we are using a new domain for the forum. We do not want this forum being effected during things like false phishing. Keeping the domain for the forum separate from our streaming end like we did on jd.net will make sure the forum is never effected and can remain a location for everyone to gather.

    The domain name for the forum is intentionally different from the streaming end. In the future, when the time is right, we plan on expanding our community into other sites and becoming involved with subs, manga, reviews, merchandise and more. Having one centralized forum for all of them is one of our future goals with this community.

    At least the name change isn't as big as it was for Dubtopia to JustDubsOnline. lol

    What's going to happen with the JustDubsOnline domain when you get the main, streaming, and forum domains fully set up?

    We'll probably just leave it up as a redirect for a year. We won't make any effort to change past branding and advertisements either. If something says JustDubsOnline anywhere we'll leave it. It won't hurt SEO to see instances of the "online" tag.

    By the way, When I use IE, false phishing warning does not appear.
    What difference from other browsers ?

    Yes the URL will be changed too.

    And from what I can tell with IE is that it does not have very high security features.

    This. IE doesn't have the same "hijacking" warning message that Firefox and Chrome have been using (since 2006 as far as I remember for Firefox). I'm guessing Safari as a desktop application just joined in on the "hijacking" on (suspected) suspicious sites recently, but I don't care for Safari and don't have it installed to confirm.

    Also, Microsoft Edge (the Windows 10 browser that was "supposed" to replace IE) also does not hijack the site with a warning message like other browsers do. This can be a good and a bad thing. Good for JustDubsOnline, since it doesn't interfere with browsing, bad because if there are sites that are actually suspicious, the user won't know about it without active protection from security software designed to alert a user of suspicious sites.

    The maintenance is now complete! The new home for the Anime site is justdubs.org and the forum is on justanimeforum.net (you're here it you're reading this [hehe]).
    During the switch over, the forum is getting a new mail service. The reason is the previous service the site was using has moved to a paid only setup. With the number of emails the forum sends per month, there are plenty of free alternative. Changing domains gave the ideal time to switch over and the new service's account is currently undergoing verification. Once done, emails will we able to be sent from the site and received by members.
    Thank you all for your understanding and patience.

    Edit: Emails should start being sent out again. As the site's reputation is new, expect some delays, though it shouldn't take too long.

    Well that was faster than expected, didn't have to miss anything on the site extra than what I already do when I sleep. Good work Kiri.
    Just wanted to say that the old forum URL doesn't redirect, that is if it was meant to redirect.

    Thank you. The old forum URL won't redirect sadly. This is a limitation of an HTML redirect. While I tired to make any URL go to the index page, it created an endless loop (because the index page went to the index page again and again). It's not perfect, but we wanted a redirect page that (for supported browser) paused for about 5 seconds before moving to the new domain. From there members could click the "forum" link on the homepage to get here.

    Edit: This should be addressed now. See my post below.

    I made an announcement on the FB page about the site being back up and about the redirects. I also mentioned the forum info and just posted the link in case people are trying to get directly from the forum like I did lol. Hopefully that will help some. :)

    with that brought up, i wonder if we could also add an AOST (Anime Original Sound Tracks) section for the site and add another mascot with a DJ/musical feel to her.

    Will the download anime option on the streaming page be put back to working order? I try to use it but get a page not found error.

    I would give the links another go. They should point to the right place now. Why? That's because I had time to make a more robust redirect solution last night and got it working this morning. Old forum links should go to this site on the appropriate page and the streaming links should do similar.

    It can take time for all browsers to work 100%. I had to use a private window (and close each new test) to ensure the request wasn't a cached response.

    I think I figured it out.

    when trying to access the download site through justdubs.org

    It brings me to the following webpage.

    and when I click here is were I get the no page available.....

    When accessing it directly from the forum there is no issues my bad.....

    I see what you mean. Those links were relative (had no domain in then, so it's assumed the same as the one the site is on) and just needed a quick update. The redirect I was referring to will only work for old justdubsonline.net links. This was just something that needed a quick edit. Thanks for finding it..
