    The Japanese cast includes:
Daiki Yamashita (Yowamuchi Pedal's Sakamichi Onoda) as Dandan Fang
Yuichiro Umehara (Girlish Number's Gojō Karasuma) as Zhun Zheng
Lynn (Fuuka's Fūka Akitsuki) as Ruohan Xiao
Rumi Ookubo (Yuruyuri's Chinatsu Yoshikawa) as Shine
Fukushi Ochiai (All Out!!'s Takeo Atsuta) as Jun Wang
Shunsuke Takeuchi (The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls' Producer) as Yiqi Meng

Subaru Kimura (Doraemon's Gian) as Yunteng Li
Daiki Hamano (DAYS' Takanobu Hayase) as Captain Wang

The series will have a separate cast for the Chinese version.

Yasutaka Yamamoto (Actually, I Am…, Squid Girl Season 2) is directing at the Japan-based Dandelion Animation Studio (3DCG animation for Haikyu!!, Miss Hokusai, The Empire of Corpses) and Gonzo (18if, Akiba's Trip). Kenichi Yamashita (D.Gray-man Hallow, Ketsuekigata-kun!) is writing the scripts and handling series composition. Rei Aoi (Luck & Logic ) is designing the characters, and Koji Watanabe (Space Brothers, Majestic Prince) is in charge of mechanical designs. Yakuya Yamazaki is credited as the 3D CG director, and Kei Ichikura(Magic Kaito 1412, Is This a Zombie?) is art director. Takeshi Takadera (Yowamushi Pedal, Bakuon!!) is directing the sound, and Yoshihiro Ike (DAYS, Rage of Bahamut Genesis) is composing the music.

Saori Fukuyama is performing the ending theme song "Higher Maker" for the Japanese version. The Chinese version of the show will have different theme songs.

The Shenzhen, China-based Da-Jiang Innovations (DJI) drone manufacturing company is partnering with Dandelion Animation Studio to produce the project. The anime is based on the DJI-hosted RoboMasters competition, which is the world's biggest student robotics competition. News website The Verge posted a video in September from the five-day event last year in Shenzhen. At the competition, college students compete for cash prizes and a chance to audition to work at DJI. The tournament pits two teams of robots against each other. This year's event is the third RoboMasters event.

The video above features a clip (at 7:00) of what The Verge states is an already produced anime series that aired in China in fall 2016. The Verge said that the anime is about "a nerdy teen who finds his calling, and his courage, behind the wheel of a rover."

The RoboMasters The Animated Series anime project will depict college students as they prepare and participate in a RoboMasters tournament, and will depict the tournaments in CG.

Dandelion Animation Studio was founded in 2007, and has also worked on such series as March comes in like a lion and films such as Popin Q.

Well this looks interesting. Robots the anime, which focusses on school kids and their drama before sending the robots to do their thing. It almost sounds like what Robotics Notes promised in the beginning. The animation looks nice as well so chances are I'll be watching this one too. China seems to have upped their game recently.
