China on Tuesday reacted angrily to Japan’s biggest change in defence policy since the World War II, saying the move could undermine regional peace and harm Chinese sovereignty.

Japan’s cabinet has approved a significant shift in its 60-year pacifist policy, widening its military options in the midst of heightened tensions with China over disputed islands.

The contentious move will allow the military to help defend other nations in what is known as “collective self-defence.”

Finally they can get started on mobile gundam suits. Of course the US gets first dibs :)

Okay but more seriously I have no qualms about this. Japan is a great ally and has come light years ahead of their warmongering predecessors. Oh yeah and China complaining is just business as usual. They won't do a damn thing and frankly this is their fault (yeah don't think Japan hasn't noticed you increasing your naval power).

I need to point out a few things here......
    1. All countries have the capacity to make war, if they feel the need. They will.
    2. BOTH sides in this territorial pissing match (which has been ongoing on and off for 2 centuries) have been arming up. Japan just got done building their first carrier in 70 years and has Aegis cruisers with the best shipboard radar ever built the SPY-1D. The CPLN has a restored Soviet Carrier and is building a jet that is capable launching off of it however considering their pilots have on avg. less then 25 to 30 hrs per year the PLAAF and this carrier is not too much of a threat. By comparison training per month for NATO pilots is 30+ hours.
