Gundam: Battle Operation 2 Game's Beta Announcement Trailer Streamed

Bandai Namco Entertainment began streaming a beta announcement trailer on Sunday for Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation 2, the sequel to its Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation and Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation Next games. Bandai Namco Entertainment first revealed the video at the Taipei Game Show event on Sunday.



The "team battle action" game is slated to launch on the PlayStation 4 this year. The game will be free to play. The game will have a beta test this spring, and Bandai Namco Entertainment is accepting applications for the beta from January 29 through February 14.

The first game launched in Japan for the PS3 in June 2012, and ceased operations on July 31.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation was the first free-to-play game for the Gundam franchise. In the game, four to six players could join either the Earth Federation or Zeon Forces to play against each other. Players could not only pilot the giant Mobile Suits of the Gundam world, but could also attack enemies in vehicles or even on foot.

A sequel game titled Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation Nextdebuted for the PS4 and PS3 in August 2015. Featuring similar gameplay as its predecessor, the sequel introduces Mobile Suits from Mobile Suit Z Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, and Mobile Suit Gundam Wing.
