So far I have seen the first 8 episodes of Season 1 of Gundam 00 and am enjoying it!! I like the dilemma that Gundams find themselves in, and the complexity of the situation of the world! Overall, good plot thus far!!

Gundam 00 is one of my top 5. Episode 15 is when the series really starts to pick up IMO. Some people didn't like the change of focus in Season 2, but I loved it even better than the first.

Just finished episode 11. Wow, they certainly killed Allejuah's back story quickly...

    There's more to it.

The supersoldier program may have ended but there are still others out there related to Allelujah's past.

I have a lot of mixed feelings on all the Gundam shows I seen. I feel this one was the best one because I actually sympathize for the guys. Where some of the other ones made me want to throw the protagonists out a 50 story window this one had a cool bunch of characters that I felt deserved a break from my usual criticisms. One guy suffered from a terrorist bombing as a child, one guy was a terrorist bomber as a child! One guy was experimented on and developed split personalities (I like him the most) and everyone just seemed so much more fleshed out then what previous series did.

I even liked the villains, well the one from Setsuna's past any any rate. I wish he got more screen time instead of that hot shot pilot from the US. I liked that guy but he's not antagonist worthy.

I see what you mean Doom. I think I still prefer Gundam Wing to 00 so far. But, I agree the gundam pilots in this seem like they are more fleshed out than in Wing. So it feels like they have more of a purpose.

Gundam does have a history of kinda bland characters, true. Even in 00 I think they still could have developed them more than they did; at least in season 1 anyway (season 2 was heavily character-focused which I think worked greatly in its favor). 00 was directed by Seiji Mizushima though, who is the same director behind Fullmetal Alchemist 2003, so I think a lot of the show's focus on characters is owed to him. Underrated director IMO; I've seen three shows from him now and all of them I've rated 8/10 and above.

I don't know how the movie turned out to be such a mess though... I guess we can just chock it up to Seiji taking a page from Tetsuro Araki's Guilty Crown.

I don't remember much about the anime since I watched it when it premiered on the sci-fi channel, which was about 5 years ago. All I remember was that I never wanted to miss an episode cause it was that interesting and I'm not gundam fan.

Oh yeah there is one thing I really like about this anime that stuck with me for some reason. I loved how the ending theme would start up like about 20 seconds before the episode would end, it will tip me off that the ending was coming up. I don't know why but it was kind of cool when it does that, the episodes always ended on a high note.

@minisiets I see what you mean in episode 15
with the new gundam meisters being introduced
And the second half of episode 16 being more or less a recap of the first series, thus far. Still got the rest of the first season to finish.

Just finished the first season... Aahhhh!!! All those feels!!!

You were right, Gundam 00 is a really good series!! A lot of unnecessary filler here and there, with the odd plot twist just thrown in for the sake of it. But, I really enjoyed the first season!! The characters were solid and you found out about some of their back story. The mystery of Vada was good as well. The fight scenes are beautiful and stunning to watch!! I have been watching the series via an HDMI cable. I have to say, it is awesome in HD, compared to lower quality!!

Going to start watching the second one, soon!

When watching season 2 keep in mind that there are important extra scenes after the credits to watch, and they do not show them or review them in the next episode. It's a weird quirk about the series; I dunno why they did it, but whatever. First time I watched the series I didn't know this though, so I missed a few pretty important points, including the full explanation of Aeolia Schenberg's plan.

I imagine the ending into the credits will be similar in Season 2 to season 1 anyway. Sort of expected it, seeing as every time an episode ends, it plays the ending theme before the credits roll.

Oh, I see what you mean @minisiets about extra scenes after the credits in season 2...

And wait, was the last bit of the first episode a flashback?? OR....

    IS LOCK-ON FINALLY BACK!?!? LOCK-ONNNNNNNNN!!!!

Also, I'm confused. It's jumped 4 years into the future and have no idea about the state of the gundam 00 world....

    Also one other thing...

SETSUNA SAID THE NAME OF THE TV SHOW!!! GUNDAM 00!! AHHHH!!!

No, the last part is not a flashback. The next episode will explain it. But yeah, the first episode is a little confusing. The world is in a very different state after 4 years. Though it doesn't explicitly explain it, basically the new Federation world government has grown oppressive and instituted a "peace-keeping" organization (and I say this term very loosely) called A-LAWS that acts outside the law to maintain the government's control by any means necessary. You got a glimpse of what they're capable of in the first episode. They use top of the line new mobile suits based on pseudo-GN drive tech, so they're no pushovers.

Think I'm starting to get the gist of the plot now. Also...

ALLEJUAH IS BACK!!! WAIT, HE WAS MISSING!?

    Yeah,
Allelujah was defeated by Marie and the Colonel back in the last season, so he was captured and placed in confinement. The Allelujah Rescue Operation was one of my favorite episodes by the way, I loved Sumeragi's plan that they used.

Just finished episode 9 of Season 2. I see what you mean about the plot going off on a tangent. Now it just seems to be nothing but fights. With a little bit of the story in the background. I have to admit I really do hope it wraps up the mystery surrounding the innovators and Shenburg's plan. I will be so gutted if this series does not have a proper ending to it!!
