game advice

WEll I'm trying to figure out exactly what I want for christmas.

I plan to get ratchet and Clank future: A crack in time because I haven't gotten around to that game yet. But I want to get at least one or two other games and I can't seem to decide.

I'm looking for something on the PS3 or DS because while I do own a Wii it's currently in the living room and thus if someone is watching in there I can't play. So Wii is optional but I'm trying to look at the first two since I can play freely on those.

NOTE: I don't like horror games, games with gore, not really a gan of racing games, never play sports games, and not really interested in Call of Duty or similar games.

As for games I like Ratchet and Clank is obviously one of them but some others are

Infamous- I thought this was an interesting game and was different from a lot of other games I play.

Tales of (The abyss, graces, Xillia)- I included all of this as one since they are all different games in a series. The tales series (For those that don't know) is basically like final Fantasy in the sense that each game is independent. Characters from one game don't show up in antoher outside of Cameos. I like all three games I've played in this series.

Disgaea 1-4: An SRPG (Strategy Role playing game) with some good humor, over the top game play, and enough stuff to do that you can easily keep going until you finally get tired of playing. There is too much to say about this series but if you've played it then you know one thing I like.

I've also like .hack, Kingdom hearts, but I also like platformers like Supermario Galaxy, Sonic adventure and sonic adventure 2, and Megaman ZX.

So does anyone have any suggestions? I know what I listed leaves things pretty broad but I'm kinda trying to be broad. If you want a little more focus I wouldn't mind another good RPG type game. But I also wouldn't mind something different because I've been playing those a lot lately. So something similar to something else on the list would also be good. But if you have something you highly recomend that isn't similar to something listed then you could also list that and I could see if I'd want to try it. Again sorry I'm being to broad. If you have no advice maybe let me know where I could find some?

For DS I would recommend getting the new LoZ.  While I've heard about a few aspects of the game that it could probably do without, overall, I've mostly heard good things about it.  Also try Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia and Pokemon X or Y if you haven't already.

Idk if you're into PC gaming but, if so, you should try Mount and Blade: Warband, MechWarrior 4 (any of the 3, Mercenaries is my favorite), StarCraft 2, and Vampire The Masquerade:  Bloodlines (one of the best RPG's I've played).

Oh, you meant original DS?  My bad.  >_>   When people start talking about the DS I just assume they mean the 3DS.  =P

I have a feeling you would like Jak and Daxter if you have never played it before.
Sorry played that already. I did enjoy those although the massive shift in gameplay from the first game to jack 2 was a little weird. First game was like a standard platformer with Eco powers and stuff while the second was more like a 3rd person shooter. Game 3 pretty much said screw any concept of platforming we know you just want to blow stuff up! Which is why I think I kinda like ratchet and Clank better since it keeps a better balance of platforming and insane weaponry. I don't like horror or zombie games or Gory games like Bioshock or GoW (Well at least the original was gory don't completely know about Infinite)I said I already played infamous, sly, and ratchet in the first post and I mentioned above that I played Ratchet and clank.At the very least Little Big Planet is a possibility. I heard about it and it never seemed all that interesting but then again I didn't look at it much.Sorry to shoot down most of your list but most of that I've either already played or isn't my thing. I appreciate the effort though I really do. It's better than being ignored or not noticed and not even getting an attempt.

Skyrim is great and all, but try Oblivion.  While the graphics aren't as good, the bows kinda suck, and you lack the dual-wielding and finishing moves of Skyrim, I feel that oblivion is an overall superior RPG with a good bit more content.    But they are both definitely worth your time.  That's if you haven't played either of them yet.
