Square Enix announced on Tuesday that it will release a new edition of its Final Fantasy XV game titled Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition. The release is slated for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 6 in both North America and Japan. Square Enix is streaming an English and Japanese trailer for the new release, which previews its new features.

The new release will include the previously released Season Pass DLC, including Episode Gladiolus, Episode Prompto, Episode Ignis, and Multiplayer Expansion: Comrades. It will also include new bosses, gear, a first-person mode, new dungeons, a new combat style for the Armiger, a controllable Royal Vessel, and other DLC.

Current owners of Final Fantasy XV will be able to access the content from the new edition for US$19.99 in North America, or 2,000 yen in Japan.

Square Enix previously revealed that it is developing content for the game into 2018. Game director Hajime Tabata previously revealed that Square Enix plans on developing content for Final Fantasy XV until the end of 2018.

Square Enix recently launched the "Comrades" multiplayer expansion for the game last November, which adds a cooperative multiplayer story to the game set during the game's 10-year timeskip near the end of the story. Square Enix also launched the "Episode Ignis" DLC last month, and will release the game on Windows PC this year. The Monster of the Deep PS VR game released on November 21, and the "Pocket Edition" of the game also shipped last fall.

Tabata earlier said last September that the game has "achieved over 6.5 million units" worldwide. Tabata didn't specify if the number is combined digital sales and shipments (as with previous milestone announcements for the game) or another metric.

Final Fantasy XV went on sale worldwide for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in November 2016.
