    Hijacking this thread back. Even though I wasn't the only person on the old forum (not temp) to make this thread.

    That just gave me a cool idea. kill Markarov and have the first master take over. how awesome would it be for Fairy Tail’s master be a ghost that only members can see? Fairies are supossed to be mysterious and hard to find creatures so it would be kinda fitting to have an almost fairy like master. It’s probably not going to happen but wouldn’t that be cool?




    I dont think i would like that actually. She's the first master and all so i'm sure she would do well, but she's meant to be dead and i've never liked the idea of her randomly returning. I liked how she appeared on that island but not that she stuck around. I think it would be interesting to kill off Makarov and make Macao the definite guild leader.

    I'd be more interested in Laxus or someone else like Gildarts becoming the guild leader rather than Macao.

    Maybe in the future Laxus. He is becoming more and more attached to Fairy Tail and after this arc they will trust him even more. Gildarts said no already about becoming master.

    If the mavis thing is a no go the next leader needs to be Gildarts or laxus. Macao isn't anyone important in the slightest besides being Romeo's dad and that kid isn't much either. The only reason macao was ever master was because every member who was more suited to being master wasn't there. And just look at what happened to the guild under his command. Sure they lost all their best members but given the members they had they should have been at least able to keep out of the poor house. So he really doesn't seem suited to ever become the leader again.

    You're right about that. But Gildarts already declined becoming master so then the only option would be Laxus. I'd be fine with that. Grandson following his grandfather's path.

    Finally caught back up on the manga. Been a few chapters behind.

    @Ovyda @Batosai In regards to what you guys mentioned about preferring to see Laxus as master instead of Gildarts. I agree and have a theory about that. Gonna spoiler tag this because it has to do with something that happened at the end of the daimatou enbu.

    I think that Makarov has always wanted Laxus to eventually take over Fairy Tail. Laxus' maturity level and actions prior to and while attempting to take over the guild in the festival arc was what was preventing Makarov from making it happen sooner. And his age/experience of course. Gildarts being the current best choice obviously doesn't want it. And I'm pretty sure he's in favor of having Laxus take the responsibility in the future. While Gildarts was guild leader for all of a few minutes he added Laxus back without a thought. He knows that hes changed and has a purpose in this guild. Pretty much, "I'm adding Laxus back... See ya, I'm goin on a job." Basically translates to, "I'm leaving because I don't want the responsibility. But I'm adding someone else back because they're needed." I think Gildarts wants Laxus to be the future guild master and it has to start with him being added back first.

    During that last fight with Laxus and Jura, Mavis mentioned to Makarov how the new generation will shine bright for Fairy Tail. It's a very obvious reference on how this generation of Fairy Tail members are the new future. More so on how that future is right now. Then it showed Laxus beat the crap out of Jura. Affirming his ability to take out the current ranked 5th Wizard Saint. I think that was a hint at Mavis's approval to how strong Laxus is. And more so of a hint towards Makarovs recognition of Laxus's ability.

    Laxus has changed a lot. Aside from beating all of Raven Tail by himself and beating the 5th ranked Wizard Saint, he has matured a lot. He is definitely a lot calmer, less arrogant and he seems more collected and level headed. He had a lot of thinking to do during his banishment. And his actions in helping on Tenrou Island seemed to reestablish his lost relationship and purpose in the guild. He even took an indirect order from Natsu when he was told to go back Wendy up against that other dragon. Laxus a couple of year ago would have laughed and acted like an arrogant prick when asked to do something from Natsu.

    I never agreed before about Laxus being the future guild master. Even after he came back to Tenrou Island, I still wanted it to be Gildarts. But after seeing everything with Laxus during the daimatou enbu has made me give him my full support.

    Yup, pretty much you said all the good points about him, nothing to add. Unless that it's like family heritage also to take over the Guild.

    Latest chapter was great imo. At last they are killing off someone, however I still don't think someone will die... they had so many chances to kill someone, yet didn't.

    Fairy Tail doesn't make a habit of killing off main characters. But they don't seem to mind letting villains die.

    Zancrow and Azuma from Grimoire Heart for instance.

    You're right about Laxus getting guild master because of his heritage. Carrying Makarov's blood makes him a beast capable of doing awesome things.

    Also, about recent events.

    Fuck yes, seeing Cobra back outside of some bullshit filler is very satisfying.

    So true, I was happy to see Cobra back (Bato couldn't remember him lol). However, we are yet to see more of him (hopefully we will).

    There is some theory going on that Ul will use her power somehow to revive Gray but will have to die instead of him.

    I don't want to go around thinking that may happen. I don't wish to have future knowledge.
    But I got shivers from that, damn.
    Poor Juvia, now I wander what Gray was going to say. THEY ALWAYS DO THIS IN THESE SITUATIONS IN MANY THINGS!

    Also, with Laxus being Guild Master, I like it. I forgot, what rank is Makarov in the Saints? Makes me wander if Laxus could take Makarov's place or move a little past him.

    I have learned not to get my hopes up with announcements like that but all i can think is that the anime is going to start back up but im still doubtful.

    I don't think its going to be an announcement about the anime starting back up. It only ended a short while ago. He's already promised it's not over for good so any plans on a specific restart date seem kind of unlikely right now. Could be a new movie coming out. He's been teasing his big surprise for a couple months now.

    I am hoping it would be a FT game, most likely an mmorpg, or the show starting back up. Then again, the manga is not that far ahead, so I have my fingers crossed for some kind of game.

    lol I made a big deal about using spoilers for everything in the JDR FT thread too.

    @Batosai that doesn't mean it has to be coming out this year. They could have signed for a new movie which still has to enter writing, animation and production. Which could take another year by itself.

    Well, whatever it is it has to be worthwhile if he's been talking about it since the anime ended.
