Manga creator U-Jin launched a sequel to his Sakura Diaries (Sakura Tsūshin) ecchi comedy manga in this year's 10th issue of Nihonbungeisha's Comic Heaven magazine. The Shin Sakura Tsūshin (New Sakura Diaries) manga opens with a young man looking for work in Tokyo who is suddenly embraced by a high-school girl calling him "big brother."

U-Jin serialized the original Sakura Diaries manga in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine from 1995-2000. The series was compiled into 20 volumes and adapted into a 12-episode original anime video series in 1997. A.D. Vision released the series on DVD in North America.

Several of U-Jin's manga works have been adapted into anime including Angel, The Tales Trilogy (Konai Shasei), Kyūkyoku no Chef wa Oishinbo Papa, Tales of Seduction, Vixens (Visionary), Fobia, Mail Order Maiden 28, Private Psycho Lesson, and Juliet.

The 10th issue of Comic Heaven also includes the new series Oichiitte Yutte yo. (a pun on "Tell Me It's Delicious.") by Anno Nanakamado. The romantic comedy series follows a lonely, tsundere young lady and a vampire.
