Love Hina Christmas Special

Poor Keitaro still can’t find a way to confess his love for Naru, but with a little luck and some help from the girls at Hinata Inn, a miracle might just happen. This is one of my favourite anime Christmas episodes and if you’ve seen it, you’ll know why.

Angel Taiga sets up the stage for Ryuiji to finally tell Minori how he feels, but ignores her own feelings towards Ryuji. This was a bittersweet episode which marked a huge turning point in the relationships between the characters.

Card Captor Sakura episode 35


Sakura worries about what to get Yukito for his birthday/Christmas. However, when the two of them go out on a date, the appearance of a clow card threatens to ruin everything. This was a cute episode and we get to see Sakura seal another elemental card.

It’s almost Christmas and Yuji must make a choice between Shana or Kazumi. Things turn for the worse though when Fumino attacks.

School Rumble 2nd Semester episode 19


It seems like forever since Harima started writing his manga. With the final chapter now complete, will he be able to get through Tenma’s thick head how he feels about her this Christmas? It’s hilarious how nothing ever goes right for Harima, but you’ve got to enjoy seeing the lengths he’ll go to in order to impress his love.

While Chiaki may seem mature most of the time, she still believes in Santa Claus so it’s up to everyone to keep her dreams alive. Kana may seem dumb and annoying at times, but she shows her affection for her little sister in episodes like this one.

Lucky Star episode 11


Considering Lucky Star has no plot, it’s really hard to sum up what this episode was about. Just know that it took place during Christmas and has some funny jokes.

Kimi ni Todoke episode 22


This will be the first time that Sawako has been invited to spend Christmas with her friends, but how can she tell her parents that she won’t be spending Christmas with them? What’s worse, her dad has mistaken Sawako’s present for Kazehaya has his own. Kimi ni Todoke always makes you go “aww”, but this episode really makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Hayate the Combat Butler episode 1


Hayate has been self-sufficient for most of his life due to his irresponsible parents, but when they leave him a Christmas present of a 156,804,000 Yen debt, he’s forced to kidnap a girl for ransom. As luck would have it, he accidently ends up saving her instead, and so begins a comical series about a super-rich hiki girl and her butler.

The cast is invited onto a luxury cruise, but discover that it is actually a trap set up by Piyoko. While filled with nonsensical fighting, there is a message about the importance of family.

Ai Yori Aoshi ~Enishi - bonus episode "Miyuki"


Set before the first season starts, Kaoru is a lonely boy facing yet another lonely Christmas when a strange, blue-haired Santa shows up to brighten things up. Full of fun cameos and campy fun, this is the sort of sweet, happy thing that’s perfect to warm you up on a cold winter night. Not strictly canon, "Miyuki" is actually a bonus episode accessed in the special features of Ai Yori Aoshi Enishi Volume 1. Taking place the Christmas before the series starts, "Miyuki" gives us a look at Kaoru's life between leaving the Hanabishi and reuniting with Aoi. Without the Hanabishi fortune behind him, Kaoru finds himself broke and alone on Christmas, and generally fine with that situation. Anything is better than going back to his family. But he is far from happy.

What could be more Christmas than robotic maids, secret gifts, decorations, and a party? Mahoromatic is one of those shows that shouldn't work, but somehow has the perfect balance of action, comedy, and amusing character interactions. This episode shows off a lot of what there is to love about the show.

RahXephon episode 8


Leave it to the RahXephon staff to meld the obligatory cheesecake beach episode with Christmas melodrama and end up with one of the series' darker stories. With the Christmas gift-giving season in full swing (and Meg and Haruka both doting on Ayato), Itsuki surprises Sayoko with a beautiful ice crystal set in a pendant. What Itsuki doesn't tell Sayoko is that he recovered the crystal from the remains of a Dolem. The pendant's origins become more obvious once Sayoko's jealousy toward her coworkers starts physically manifesting itself in some very weird ways -- first by the island's summery weather suddenly turning snowy, then by the crystal growing, and eventually by the spontaneous freezing of almost everything around Sayoko. Heading into the episode's second act, the crystal's effects accelerate until it morphs into a Dolem of its own, trapping Sayoko on the inside.

Nenene receives two Christmas party invitations, the first of which she discards as being sent by a lunatic. The Paper Sisters talk her into accepting the second invitation, to the 10th annual Young Writer's Award reception, being that Nenene had been the inaugural recipient of the reward. After dodging loopy authors and snotty editors, Nenene announces she has begun work on her new novel. When they return home, the Paper Sisters reveal they sent the first invitation: a "birthday" party for the three of them. They tell Nenene about their first meeting, two years ago to the day, in an abandoned church in Hong Kong. The young Dokusensha agents, Michelle and Maggie, took in Anita, whom they found starving in the church. After the Paper Sisters fall asleep, Nenene gets to working on her novel.

Tomoya and his friends are nearing graduation, and are discussing what they will be doing after they graduate. Nagisa's sickness returns, making her unable to go to school and take exams, and she will have to repeat her last year of high school again unfortunately. Tomoya brought a stuffed dango for Nagisa on her birthday while their friends come over for Christmas Eve. On the day of graduation, as Toshio Koumura decided to retire, Tomoya returns home to Nagisa who wishes to take a walk with him, while holding hands.

This is sweet and bitter love story of Dejiko who is a grown up. The story begins on the Christmas day. Dejiko or Di Gi Carat is working part-time at a bakery shop. On her way from the shop, she happens to meet a young guy, Senba Taokuo at a park. Then, she meets him again in a town. While Dejiko begins to care for Tako and she’s looking forward meet him again, Takuo drops in at her shop.... Whether will she succeed in love?

Ghost Hunt episodes 12 and 13


John brings the SPR their next case on Christmas Eve. Children at a local church are being possessed by the ghost of a selectively mute boy who vanished one day during a game of hide-and-seek. The boy, Kenji, hides in the woods once he claims a body. While in control of a child, he mistakes Lin for his dead father and clings to him. John exorcises Kenji from the child he resides in, but Kenji then promptly possesses Mai. While Naru searches for Kenji's body, Lin is ordered to play with Kenji. Lin snaps shortly after and Kenji, still in Mai's body, races into the woods. After Takigawa and John find Kenji, Naru tells him his father is waiting for him in heaven and asks him where he is. Kenji shows him the place he'd hid and died in and releases Mai, who sees Kenji's tragic death in a dream.
