Blood-C really lives up to its name, but is there a point where there is too much blood and gore?

I haven't seen any of the Blood series. But, I have to admit I think there can be limit depending on the violence depicted. For example the nail slicing scene in Higurashi was a bit too much for me. Luckily I managed to sit through the whole episode despite the fact I don't like blood, or more to the point seeing realistic gore or people talking about being in pain from an inflicted injury. I also almost couldn't bear the scene in Another where
the teacher stabs his own throat
