Bakemonogatari

Hiya! I really like this anime, and decided to make a thread for people to talk about it.  Doesn't have to be limited to Bakemonogatari specifically, it could be any of the monogatari series, or even the light novels.  Anything and everything is welcome.

 

^The only thing I really have left to point out is the fact that you spelt "Senjougahara" wrong in your sig.

I'm just kidding xD. For the most part Bakemonogatari was one of my favorite anime because of it's combination of supernatural and romance elements, as well as a very interesting and unique main character to run the show. I'm really looking forward to checking out Kizumonogatari when it comes out, as it is supposedly a prequel to the monogatari series.

Hehe, both times I watched Bakemono, it was pretty much for the Hanekawa arc. The first was obligation cause she won Nyanuary, the second cause I wanted nyans again. XD
In all honesty though, I did find the other arcs a little difficult to get through, causing me to only rate it 4 instead of 4.5. And I just find Senjougahara to be a dislikeable character, which I think is due to her character archetype.

 

I agree that the first couple of arcs were a little slow, but by the Suruga Monkey arc, I was hooked on the series. I'm currently loving Second Season, and can't wait for Kizumonogatari because I love Shinobu so much :]

 

They were alright, but the Hanekawa arc was definitely my fave.
I'mma probs be grabbing Second Season when my internet resets. It's also called Nekomonogatari: Shiro, right?
And yeah, Shinobu is my second favourite to Hanekawa. ^_^

 

@Mafiacow I'm not sure if you've seen Nekomonogatari Kuro yet, but it and Shiro are both some of the best arcs of the series

 

@Araragi Yup, I saw Kuro a little while ago. I was a bit confused in it though, cause I thought it was prior to your namesake becoming a vampire to begin with. And I was a little annoyed when the Shinobu vs. Sawarineko scene took place in a different location than what was shown in the flashbacks in Bakemono. Nonetheless, gave some much-needed backstory, and satisfied my need for Hanekawa and a kitteh. XD

 

I'm a big fan of this series too, though some of the subtitles can be hard to follow- I'm thinking of the split-second kanji slideshows scattered throughout. Poor little me can't resist the need to pause and read absolutely all of them, just in case I miss something important XD

That aside, I just finished watching the most recent season of Monogatari last week, and I really enjoyed it. So much going on, but at first it was a little hard to figure out where we were in the timeline. I don't want to drop any spoilers just in case, so I'll just say that I really liked the final arc of the series. The POV character is extremely interesting and unusual, and the way it ended has me begging for more! What next??

 

I just recently finished Second Season as well and I think I've got the timeline down... I think.

Anyone know if there has been any new updates on Kizumonogatari?
