Michael Kenneth Williams is a man in demand. Just hours ago, word broke that he was joining Andy Garcia and Matt Walsh in Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters. Now comes the news that he’s also closing a deal to play one of the key supporting roles in Assassin’s Creed.

Justin Kurzel is directing the game adaptation, which reunites him with his Macbeth stars Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard. Fassbender has the lead role of an everyman kidnapped by a mysterious, high-tech organisation and forced to relive the memories of his assassin ancestors as he locates powerful artefacts.

How Cotillard, Ariane Labed and now Williams fit in to the plot are still being kept locked in a treasure chest, though Variety has discovered that Williams’ character will have a major stake in the story and is likely to continue if the first film births a franchise, promoting him to co-star. Read into that what you will.

He’ll shoot Ghostbusters, which is already in production, first and then move on to Assassin’s Creed. He’ll also be seen in Captive, which has yet to confirm a UK date and spoof melodrama TV series The Spoils Before Dying, a sequel to The Spoils Of Babylon.
