A little help?

Not entirely sure if this is where I would ask this, but I could use a little help finding a decent anime. Lately I've been trying to find a fantasy sort of anime.

I watched Tsubasa Chronicles, S1 of Legend of the Legendary Heroes, enjoyed the first half of SAO and watching Tower of Druaga (SP?) but don't know how I feel about the abundance of comic relief. I would love to just find a fantasy/adventure anime with powerful kingdoms and such.

 

Btooom! is a pretty good little adventure anime

 

Berserk is good, though a bit dark.

 

I quite enjoy dark. I've heard a lot about Berserk, especially from the Dark Souls community. Avoided it though due to people mentioning how the anime doesn't do it justice while others saying it is a fantastic anime.

 

I'll second Berserk, at least for the action and dark atmosphere of it all. I think it get's a bad rep from the fact that it's one of those unfinished Manga transitions or something. You know how it goes, the Manga did that, this, or that...

That sort of thing. For what it was it was good, maybe not great but memorable at least.

Slayers a adventure\comedy hybrid. Heavy doses of comedy but I thought it was pretty fun. Always would wait for that "boss fight" at the end, the stuff you would expect from an adventure. The later seasons really improved on the formula. I can easily compare this to Tower of Druega. I thought this was funnier and had a very easy to remember group of characters. And yes that's Brock from Pokemon voicing the swordsmen guy.

Scrapped Princess was pretty good. It sounds generic as hell (knights have to protect a princess fated to death) but for what it was I thought it did the best it could. Can't ask for more from this anime, a real solid one imo.

Now and Then, Here and There
This one is a gut kicker. It's the familiar teleporting to a new world trope. The main guy is a goofy Tokyo kid that gets warped into some kind of wasteland planet that's under the oppression of what seems to me a Nazi inspired army. Throw in a mysterious girl, child soldiers, and a hopelessness that is a sharp contrast to the main guy and this quickly became one of my favorites.
