..............Guys, it's that time of year again. The time of year where our wallets suffer immensely.

So before the sale ends on the 4th, what do you guys have your eyes on for this round of pain and pleasure?

Here's what I've got lined up in my shopping cart:

    Saints Row 2, 3, and 4
    Assassins Creed 1, 2, and 4
    Child of Light
    Fallout 3
    Braid
    Fable
    L.A. Noire
    Dark Souls 2 and 3
    Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus
    Counter Strike Global Offensive
    AudioSurf

Any recommendations for good games to buy before the sale goes away?

I picked up Stardew Valley. I've got my eye on a few other games, but I'm waiting to see if they get a big price reduction.

I'm considering getting Fallout NV on PC just so I can play a modded version.

Honestly I highly doubt that they're going to slash the prices any further.

Also, I'm glad they decided to get rid of the Flash and Daily deals. Now I don't have to keep a watchful eye in case a game I'm itching for goes on sale

Trails in the Sky FC (First chapter) is 10 bucks.
    Do it!
    Do it!

I know you hear raving fanboys like me cry out that this game is the revival of the JRPG brand. Stop ignoring those calls, this series is the best thing you can find for that price. Easily will last you 50-60 hours of substantive story and gameplay. And the beauty of it is that it's a one of those games that focuses on characters and their interaction with the game world. That game world encompasses multiple titles in a way that classics like Suikoden just pales in comparison to.

If you have any love for classics like Grandia, Lunar, Suidoden, Wild Arms, even FF7 then this game is such a natural extension to those games.

If you do I can point you towards the cool stuff that might be hidden gems

    Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning
    Fable Aniversary
    Deus Ex:Mankind Rev

I told my wife all those games was only 32 dollars she seemed impressed and let me keep my Credit Card so it means she approves me to spend more money on games right!?

Maybe? If my bloody car insurance payment wasn't this month I'd be buying some Steam games. Oh well guess it wasn't meant to be. Nice purchases though.

I won't know since I'm not a married man. However from what I observed from the outside looking in, when the wife says it's okay to spend credit card money it means she herself is planning to use the same credit card to buy stuff for herself. A sort of unspoken
"I let you buy stuff, you better leave room for me or it's your fault it doesn't go though for me"

Basically it's a potential trap. Good luck, hope the card hold up for her or she'll get mad at you despite it being her fault for giving you that chance.

Historically, discounts during the summer sale change throughout the duration of the sale. So, idk. I'm sure some are probably maxed out, but I've managed to get games for crazy cheap just by waiting it out, before.

I am fairly impatient, however. So, I've already bought a few games. =P

Just picked up Read Only Memories and Fallout NV, today.

    I'm really enjoying Stardew Valley.

Ark: Survival Evolved. Even though it's an "Early Access Game" it's really stable and constantly updated and patched, so it's one Early Access game on Steam that hasn't become a scam. It's on sale last I checked, so if you were leery before, it's a great time to check it out.

I've been playing it and I love it. 117 hours of play and maybe about 30 minutes out of all that just checking the settings for the game and configuring the settings for solo play. It does get a bit boring playing solo though, so definitely play it with a friend if you can. I'm thinking of renting a server myself for friends to play on, but I've yet to pick what company I want to go with in renting one.

I got Stardew Valley awhile ago its very much like the Harvest Moon games. I really, really like it. I've got 44 hours on it so far but I've had to take a break because I was starting to stay up wayyyy too late playing it :p

Oh man. Grandia II was such an amazing game I love it to bits! I've seen quite a few JRPGs on steam but it's getting harder and harder to know whats good now that theres just so much on the market so I may have to check it out.

Also in case you're all still wondering about the specials my partner told me he had a poke around and found out that the sales are going to be static this time around - pretty much everything thats on sale is staying on sale as they are until the end of the sale period. They didnt put much effort into it this year it seems. I wasted so much time last year playing that stupid game they had on, haha.

Grandia II was one of my first role playing games with voice acted diologue. I thought it was really neat, Millinia had the best lines.

The only game I bought was Clannad Side Stories.

I mainly play Visual Novels on Steam.

    I bought:
    Cortex Command
    Garry's Mod
    LiEat
    Oddworld: Abe's Exodus
    Oddworld: Abes's Oddysey
    Oddworld: Munch's Oddysey
    Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD
    Over 9,000 Zombies
    Postal 2 + DLC
    Transisitor + DLC (soundtrack)

Too bad the sale is now over. But I think I bought what I really wanted. The stuff I had money for, that is.
