How Much $$$ have U Spent On Games This Year?

So a little bit ago, I was in a post on our Black Sakura Entertainment group, commenting back and forth with a few fellow members discussing anti piracy and how expensive our hobbies can be, so i said I spent so far this year almost $1k on games alone. i decided to go through every game I did buy so far and see how much I actually spent this year.

Every game I bought this year. I included Mario Maker and Disgaea 5 since they are on pre order and of course I will be paying them off. Also i am not done after that with buying games yet this year either

Sales tax was included when applied to prices of each game.

Are we counting subscriptions and in-game purchases or just the media itself (disc/digital download & DLC)?

If we're counting subscriptions and in-game purchases, I've probably spent over $500 on games, subscriptions, and in-game purchases this year. If not, then it's probably closer to $200 - $250. Would be higher, but Bethesda pretty much screwed any chance of me paying them $120 (give or take $10 for tax/shipping/etc) for Fallout 4's Pip Boy Edition. It was sold out in less than 3 hours of the games announcement from what I heard and I suspect that scalpers got a good chunk of them before the loyal fans could. They also made preorders online-only so anyone that usually goes to a brick & mortar store got completely screwed out of any chances of getting one. On top of that, Bethesda won't release anymore, knowing full well they could have made way more money than they could have imagined if they actually used their pathetic marketing brain of theirs, planned ahead and took all Pip Boy Edition pre-orders and made that many of the editions. Not only would scalpers lose their chances of selling one at a higher price, but true fans would have been able to get one without having to pay a single scalper and getting their wallet devoured by these crooks.

 

I hate scalpers. I collect amiibo, and they make getting rare amiibo either impossible or they charge people $50 for them [When they sell for $10-$13 at retail price]. Needless to say it sucks.

As for money I've spent on game this year, it's probably closer to the $200 mark. I don't buy games very often. The only one's I can think of are Mlb 15, Animal Crossing, Lord of Magna, Dynasty Warriors 8, and a whole bunch of games during the steam sale which don't amount to all that much.

 

I didn't count subscriptions, dlc, or accessories myself, and I just chipped in with my brother for Rare Replay on xbone yesterday

 

Well I spent about $2500 CAD worth of games about $600 of that was just buying a new portable system. (New 3DS + PS Vita Slim)... counted mine from all the stuff I bought this year from ebgames. minus some accessories for games.

PS. didn't count steam games that I bought and games I bought from PSN.

 

well, i'd say around $2,000 dollars. But this also includes magic the gathering, computer games, a new playstation 4. But only games alone i'd say around $500.

 

I see a lot of zeroes above me and I feel small.

I only spent about 20$. I spend a lot of time replaying old games. I do have about a 100 set aside for some games I've been eyeing for the end of the year.

I suppose that I've probably spent about 5-40 on games this year. I usually wait until I find something I want at a yard sale. Just a few months ago, we found a Gameboy Micro at one such sale. The guy was wanting five dollars for the thing, a spare faceplate, the charger, a bag, two game cases, and around ten games and GBA videos. I got it not realizing that it is considered rare. Needless to say, I'm NOT playing on it much now that I know its value range.

 

I'm sure that I'm forgetting a few, but here's the (rough) total for what I can remember.

Games purchased this year: $156

Hardware: $500

Games I intend to purchase: $155

 

Those skins are so tempting and riot keeps releasing new skins every other week (have you seen the latest Devil Vi skin <3 )
Besides buying RP on league($20), I purchased a 3ds bundle which came with one game(Pokemon X) and an amiibo (dark link).
So that was approximately $250.
Then I bought 2 more games : Mario Kart 7 and Fire Emblem awakening so that was approximately $30 each.
I also spent some cash on steam during the summer sale, bought metal gear solid and tomb raider which won't run on my laptop for some reason >_> and some other games that I can't recall.

So in total I must have spent $350 until now

I'll probably be buying more games for the 3ds soon
