    I found skype group chat annoying, if only there was a way to suppress the notifications. I can't keep my status as offline all the time.

    In the chat type "/alertsoff"

    And then you can type "/alertson stevey"

    This will notify you only when your name is mentioned in the chat.

    One other option that others and I have used is going through the notification settings. If while in the chat, click Conversation > Notification Settings... > then click the radio button "Notify me only when these words are mentioned:". Then type in the words you want, separating each word with a space. I went one step further by also turning off all sounds. To do this click Tools > Options... > Under the Settings tab click Sound. Then click the button "Mute all sounds".

    The chat box on the site is dead 99% of the time i'm not on it so idk if this is the place to put it but my Skype is the same as on here RodRule.
