Our 19th film in The Midnight Channel. Digimon: The Movie is a 2000 American film adaptation of the first three Japanese Digimon films distributed by 20th Century Fox. The film used footage from the films Digimon Adventure (1999), Our War Game!! (2000), and Digimon Hurricane Touchdown!! / Supreme Evolution!! The Golden Digimentals (2000).

In Highton View Terrace, before their adventure in the Digital World, siblings Tai and Kari Kamiya witness a Digi-Egg emerging from their computer. The egg soon hatches, revealing a Botamon. The Digimon rapidly digivolves into Koromon and then a very large Agumon, who unintentionally destroys a good part of the neighborhood. A second Digi-Egg appears in the sky to reveal a Parrotmon. Agumon digivolves to Greymon, but brutally loses the battle. Tai wakes Greymon with Kari's whistle, who defeats Parrotmon and disappears with him. Years later, an evil viral Digimon successfully kidnaps the original Chosen Children. Their younger friends must race against time with their Digimon partners to discover the source of this new menace, and perhaps solve a years-old mystery.

He has yet to see the show, so he doesn't know what he's missing.
    It's a shame.

Plus, after season 2, it actually changes things up, for every season.
Pokemon you say? Same kid, different friends, new pokemon, same goal = stale as hell of a plot.

If he hasn't even seen the show what's his basis for comparison? You can't even say one is better than the other when you haven't even watched Digimon yet.

There is no plot anymore. At first Ash had a dream to be a pokemon master but when was the last time he even mentioned it? I stopped watching long ago but last I remember he hadn't said a word about his dream for several seasons. Plus he keeps getting rid of all his pokemon. you know if he would just keep the best ones from each Gen his team would be so strong by now that he could probably clear through all the gyms in a region without breaking a sweet.

Anyway The changing things up doesn't always work so well. For example Digimon X-cross is horrible and spits on everything digimon used to stand for. It does away with Levels, takes digimon that are supossed to be super powerful and make them weak (For example the god of all digimon Fanglongmon makes an apperance as a mid level lackey to a bad guy).

Changing things up is one thing but Digimon X-cross was really another show entirely thinly veiled as a Digimon season. I'm 50% certain that this really was another show at first but the idea was shot down, so they redressed it with the digimon name and characters and got it through. But X-cross is the only truely terrible season. Data squad was a little lacking at times but fairly good over all and the other seasons had their pros and cons.

You actually took my comment serious? They are kids shows, why would i care? If they were released now i would probably drop both of them after 1 ep.

This is actually really true.  I mean he is correct on many counts on this.  It does sort of spit on the continuity by having a bunch of old people show up without really mentioning who they were previously as monsters of the week and they only did "the new digivolution" (as in the one introduced that season).  And the other show thing is incredibly true.  The reason that I made it through the first season is for two reasons:music and mecha.  The music has always been incredible in digimon, so that's not different.  However looking back on it, the enjoyment I mostly got from the show was the mecha section.  This wasn't even like the other ones enjoyment of the digivolutions, it was more along the lines of how I'd enjoy Super Sentai (aka Power Rangers).  So it really does feel like a mecha anime got turned down and then they pitched it as another digimon.

I made it through one season, then I lost it when I entered the great Shogun Anime Famine of 2012-2013.

I see so you didn't even see the worst of it. I hated season 1 for everything it ruined about Digimon but It did have a couple interesting characters and enough plot to give me something to watch during those times I was bored and didn't feel like anything else. I would have given it at least 5 or 4 out of 10 meaning it was passable if you didn't mind how it treated the digimon franchise. Some of the fusions were interesting and the plot certainly could have been worse.... and it did get worse. Season 2 comes around and the show gets so stale, so boring, so devoid of interesting characters or plot that I just couldn't bare another episode. I don't like to drop series BTW. Once I start a series I like to try to finish it because even if I don't enjoy it I just want to see how it ends. But with season 2 of X-cross it was just so dull I just had to drop it. Seriously X-cross is an example of never say the phrase "At least it can't get any worse". Season 1 is bad but you can still get some enjoyment out of it if you aren't too picky. But season 2 takes even that much away and spits in the face of IT'S OWN GOD DAMN CONTINUITY! Seriously it contradicts it's own mess of a plot several times.

If any of you haven't seen X-cross don't watch it. And if you must ignore this warning don't go past season 1. Season 2 will make you want to set your computer on fire just to cleanse it of the filth you let pass through it.

Pokemon is a kids show and yet you're defending it. Just sayin, your opinion isn't recognized since you've never seen Digimon. And you can pretend your comment wasn't serious but I saw how you were complaining in the Skype chat during the movie.

So since you said "not better than pokemon" that would mean that statement was a joke too right? So you do admit Digimon is superior :)
