Guardians of the Galaxy

I'll be at work, but I did see this in theaters. I'll try to remember to post in the post-movie thread.

I won't be able to make it but I have seen it already as well in theaters.

 

It's a pretty decent movie
I am in love with Chris Pratt tho.

I finally found the time to rewatch the film. It holds up the second time through.

I recall there being some confusion and hesitation amidst the excitement prior to the release of the film, but I was on board the second the released the reveal trailer. I felt they really nailed the tone right out of the gate, and as fan of some of Marvel's weirder properties, I was very keen to see how the film would turn out. It did not disappoint. In fact, aside from some personal bias towards the Sam Raimi Spider-Man films, it's probably my favourite superhero film.

The casting's great, mostly for their chemistry that really brings out the comedic angle. The whole film has a nice self aware vibe to it, like it knows how dumb and crazy the contents are. Though the stoic nature of the antagonist leaves something to be desired, I think the play off it in an effective way with the final confrontation (the dance/distraction scene). And there's a lot of fanservice in there too, the majority of which is in the form of little nods here and there to Marvel's more obscure characters, which I certainly appreciated. At the risk of rambling on too much more I'll say that I loved it the first time and I loved rewatching it again. I'm not sure if Marvel can strike lightning a second time with the upcoming Ant Man film, but I'm looking forward to seeing what becomes of it.

 

I loved the soundtrack and the movie itself was amazing.
I've seen it over 3 times now. Touching but funny and weird at the same time.

Wait, Chris Pratt will be in the Jurassic World movie?!? *-*

 

We should have something like this for mid or end April.
I'd love to watch a movie and discuss it with everyone.
