What's the story behind your username?

well its actually what me and my friends call each other the name noobs after a dota game .

one day, one of my friends invited me and my friends to play DOTA (Defense of the Ancients - a Warcraft III map game) at some computer shop just for fun (so he said). so we agreed to play. so we went to a computer store and then went to the computers that are assigned to us by the computer attendant. good thing we are seated right next to each other. then we played.

then the one that invited us came up with a brilliant idea. he said to go fight with those other team who happened to play the game too. and i tell you it was a day not worth remembering. so the game started and each team agreed that the losing team will pay the winning team. and to make things alot better, we are all broke. we only had enough to pay for ourselves.

and then the fun begun. the game play was a mess. well, we were all over the place. no game plan. no teamwork. lots of blaming and trash talking and in the end, well, we lost. we payed the game (in debt to the winning team now payed).

the next day, the group except the one that invited us gathered and talked about the game. when he (the one that invited us) arrived, a friend of mine shouted at him "NOOBS!" and he smiled and he called us Noobs back. so, whenever we see one of the group, we call him noobs and say noobs back.

I'm fascinated by solar events, and the solar eclipse is by far the coolest in my eyes, so I chose this name. Nothing much to it.

Well, back in 2010 my cousin told me about a anime site called JustDubs. After checking things out for about a month I decided to join the forums. This was pretty much when I started my online life. I was so caught up in Assassins Creed that I decided to go with Rogue Assassin. It wasn't until a few days later when I noticed that I had swapped the gu around so it spelled "rouge" instead. It sort of grew on me over time, especially after the JD podcast Christmas special where I was one of their guests.

After that I realized that Rouge was french for color or red. since I've always liked reds I decided to keep it that way. I've used the name "Rouge" or "Rouge Assassin" As my gamer tag as well since I first used Steam to play Team Fortress 2 and I use that as my devainart name too. About a year ago I decided to change my steam to Rouge Artist since I'm an artist (and also since TF2 is one of my favorite online games it sort of goes with it). When you think about it, Rouge is a very appropriate name for an artist, isn't it? But after I changed the first part of my name to Rouge everywhere, anyone who hasn't known me since joining JD now says rogue instead of rouge! XD But I really don't mind it that much.

"I found the phrase that makes my username in a YouTube comment originally (I know, how oh so unoriginal). It was below a Michael Moore video I think. I've sort of forgotten which video it was. Someone said 'Veritas Odium Parit my friend', and I looked up what the words translate into from Latin. Turns out it means 'Truth begets Hatred'. So I thought about it for a while and decided to use it as my new username (I didn't like my old one because it was associated with a person I haven't been with since Sixth Form). So my username has sort of changed over the years from old ones I used with online games like Diablo 2. But, I use half of the current username in Diablo 3 due to it being too long for it. So I will sometimes shorten the name if the site/online game cannot take so many characters."

 

I was half asleep and I didn't know what else to choose. So I went with one of my favorite words in German. Well incidently while being half asleep I added an extra n. So instead of Stereoanlage, it's Stereoanlange.

My name is divided into three parts. The "ob" part is easy since those are my initials (Omar B.). I choose "driver" because one the first games I played was Need for speed: HS, which IMO is the best racing game on the Playstation. Anyway, since I could input my own name, I decide with "driver" (cause it was a racing game ) instead of PLAYER 1. The "6" came from when I was back in 5th grade. The teacher assigned each of us with a # and I got stuck with 6 which eventually became my favorite #. Over time, as I played more game, I don't know if I got creative or just lazy but I ended up with "obdriver6". lol

@blaze1514 I know what you mean, I had the user name Blaze for along time, and still tend to use it for air combat sims for the same reason even name my unit demons of rasgrese.

Anywho mines really basic, My first name starts with a D and the phonetic letter for D is Delta, the AI comes for a web series call Red Vs Blue for Rooster Teeth. So I'm Delta the AI.

 

my username goes back about 5 years ago when i first started reading manga, i was liking what i was reading and i was unemployed with no income looking for anything that can give me some sort of income. Then i came up the idea what if a made a website that allows people to post their own manga this would allow me to have access to larger range of manga as well as possibly make some money. Today i still haven't made that website even though i want to someday but not in the pursuit of money, i'm smart now and i realize you can't charge people to post their own creations. The name of the site is gonna be amaturemanga.com and thus the reason for my username.
