I'm thankful for the friendships in Anime. One nice aspect in certain types of series is how they underline the fact that no ONE friend can be everything to you. Each friend brings something special to the table. And in the end, usually friendship overcomes all. So what's not to be thankful for? Here are the best friendships-in-anime series to watch for your weekend binge!

This year I'm extra thankful for a really great side... character. You know the ones, characters that really make a show and give it life, the ones that nearly outshine the rest of the cast, but have the good graces to step back when it's time to continue on. An anime with great side characters is just about as good as you can get, as they provide a different taste of the world, a different angle, a new perspective, and almost always become favorites. Great sides will accentuate and energize a show and also pair excellently with the star at the table, be it as a complementary taste or as a palate cleanser. Sure, the main dish is always supposed to be the most delectable of the bunch, but when you have sides that are just as juicy, full of flavor and as robust as the main entree, then you know you're in for a good meal. Wait, what are we talking about?

This holiday season, most of us will say we are thankful for family, friends and food. Of course this will always be true. However, we forget about all of the mecha, trains, Crescent moon burgers, and adventures. Also, let us not forget imaginative war simulation and hijinks amongst high school friends. You can probably see where I am heading here. Yes, that's right, I am thankful for the many genres of anime- a venerable cornucopia of entertainment, if you will, that is always one click away for hours of fun. Whether I am feeling adventurous or sad, happy or glad, there is always some show on Anime Network that will fit my needs. And for that I am thankful.

Wow these titles, talk about a list that Spor couldn't have written. Where did you get this from?
Of the ones shown I have really liked 2, liked 1 and found another average before dropping the 5th. I know for certainty that you've got no idea what half of these are and I can't blame you because like hell I'd even attempt most of these. The original Gatchaman and Patlabor I do eventually plan on watching though.

Best friendship has to go to Rainbow for me, and for that series I am definitely thankful. I'm thankful for most of the more mature series, the ones that prove that cartoons aren't just for children.
Teenage girls having fun in clubs, yeah no, I'm thankful for shows like Black Lagoon where it displays the darker sides of society and peoples struggles to survive.
Then there are the hilarious comedies, Gintama is amazing and I am forever waiting for more eps of this show. So this franchise I am also thankful for.

Oh yeah, I see that it mentions AN in that post now @Sporadic.
I found it creepy that you were recommending shows such as rail wars and little busters without clearly stating that these weren't your personal choices. I'd much rather see your list of anime to be thankful for, screw this list of mostly nothing series.

I thought all those cutesy looking anime looked interesting...

Anyway I'm thankful for my anime buddies and groups that recommend anime from all the different genres. otherwise I'd live on ecchi and slice of life anime. Recent ones friends have gotten me to watch: Elfen Lied No-Rin, Chuunbyu demo koi ga shitai!, and Kill la Kill. So I'd have missed some good anime.
