    Because I've seen those scenes with him in a dark room or at night and those glowing red eyes with that weird smile is just so creepy. But this is one of the most heartless, manipulative creatures you will ever meet. Giving point to Kyubey.

    I agree with Mafia, while I won't say that it is cute it is anything but scary. Kyubey is essentially a stuffed animal to me, it doesn't have emotion and its evil appearance comes from poor lighting, soooo terrifying, I'm scared. The thing seen evil from it is that the deception it uses to create magical girls. Essentially Kyubey is a misguided hero of justice trying to fix the universe.

    Oyashiro on the other hand is surrounded by a curse that relentlessly attacks anyone that leaves Hinamizawa, has had ritualistic killings devoted to them in the past and even has rooms full of torture devices spread throughout the city. An unseen force [to the characters in HIgurashi] that drives people crazy which then leads to them killing one another is definitely the creepier supernatural creature.
