What makes you buy a Collectors edition, limited edition, or some other edition? Figurines, booklets, art, or what?

For example I am a total sucker for metal cases and sometimes special plot additional items like halo reach's journal. And there was that sling backpack that came with infamous 2.

I tend to only buy it when the price doesn't change that much and I really want the game itself. I would totally buy a system as part of that, and deeply regret not getting the fire emblem 3ds when it came out because I hadn't heard of it, only of the game.

If it has something i want... Like the Destiny Ghost or something like this.

But the prices on some of these(most of these) are too much.

It really depends for me. Only time I'd buy one of those 100+ ones was if I liked the developer. Other then that I collect poseable figures so if there's one of those and not a statue then I'd most likely buy it.

If its a game i want i tend to always go for the Collectors edition. Just cause of all the bonus stuff in it.

I feel like buying collectors editions for a game that you've never played or that you don't have any idea of whether or not you'll end up enjoying it doesn't exactly make a lot of sense. That being said, if it's from a game series that I really love then I will often shell out for a collectors edition anyway. =P

Well, for one thing, it has to be a game that I'm pretty confident I'll like. As in, from a developer or series that I've played good games from. As for extras that would make me shell out a few more bucks, a soundtrack is always high on the list. I'm also a fan of artbooks and behind-the-scenes bonus discs. Also, a nice fold-out map is pretty good...even though I don't end up hanging them anywhere lol.
