On another note, I'm looking forward to any new episodes of Toky Ghoul, the animation quality so far has been superb

Although my appreciation for cats is pretty serious, i do agree that there needs to be more effort put into animal characters, at least to reach a more realistic portrayal.
I read the manga for that. You were right when you said the bloodshed was intense

I've heard of the game, and although I considered playing it at some point, I think I'd probably prefer the anime anyway.

 

I'd never heard of it before you told me about it, though I think I've encountered the manga once before that.

 

What the heck just happened to this thread? One minute I'm counter posting Afflack Duck vs Gecko and then all of a sudden this leads to a discussion about romance anime and the meaning of life

I'm a sucker for a decent romance plot but it can't be the only thing about an anime show. Slice of life stuff seems boring for me, I can watch a series with some "slow" parts with no problem but if the whole anime is the daily school life of some guy\girl... well count me out.

Exception to Spice and Wolf of course. Holo is full of win.

 

I was looking for something to watch while Glasslip airs, so Space Brothers (it better be good, because damn, 99 episodes, I tend to pass on everything above 30 episodes lately)?

I will watch about anything as long as it's not something that's been made over and over again.

Zero no Tsukaima and Ookami-san and her Seven Companions are some of those animes that seem good at first, but then you realize it's one of those animes with a Tsundere as main female, a guy with no backbone in an unofficial relationship and lots of fanservice from the girls and you already know the whole story right away.

Not all anime that fit into that description count though. Shakugan no Shana is one of these animes I just mentioned, but stays far enough from all the clichés for me to actually buy the first season (which is the worst) and at least, as seasons go on, the relationship between Yuji and Shana evolves rather than stagnate, the characters reach some of their goals and have new ones (they're not stuck in high school, get a quest, do it, then go back to high school). In brief, things evolve.

So yeah, an anime should be at least a bit original for me to appreciate it and should be from at least new angle if I go all the way to recommend it to somebody (Hidan no Aria is original though too short to really know if it's any good (and the LNs got licensed, so it'll take forever for the translators to go further than the anime) although I still enjoyed a bit what I've seen).

Also, I agree with Doomguy, Holo rocks!
