    Well I was looking through my Anime Planet (AP) list the other day and I noticed that Neon Genesis Evangelion (NGE) was marked as "stalled". This got me thinking that I had not watched the entire series THIS WHOLE TIME. Well first let me explain something, NGE was the first anime I waatched when I moved to the U.S. back in 2000. My cousin had received the whole series as a present and asked me if I wanted to see it. I immediately got hooked on it, even I though I didn't understand most of it. Unfortunately due to my lack of remembering why (it been 14 years :/ ), we stopped watching it half way through the series. Well as time past I forgot about until 2003 (I believe) that toonami was gonna show it but it was not meant to be :(. Due to financial problems we had to say good bye to cable. Well many more years passed until I found out that anybody could watch anime online and it wasn't until 2011 that I found Justdubs. For some reason I had remembered NGE and of course I had to watch it from the begging after so many years. Well, Back then I was very (and I mean VERY) conservative with watching anime as I would watch 1 episode a week and looking back that really backfired on me. Near the end of the series, a lot of thing piled up with school, work and the fact that we had to move, I had to drop the series with only 2 episodes left. After the move, it took me a couple of months to get back into online anime but by that time I had forgotten about NGE again. Well on January 20, 2013 I had finally decided to make an account with Anime Planet to keep track of the anime I had watched, instead of the list I had in my PC. As I was adding titles, NGE was listed as 24/26 and it finally dawned on me that I had not finished it but there was a problem. As many of you know, 2 days prior JustDubs was shut down so I had no way to actually see it for the time being and I didn't feel like looking for another dub anime site, so I left it like that. As the months passed, I got my anime fix through Netflix and Toonami (when it came out). By the time I made an account with DT (back in August IIRC), I had again forgotten about NGE. Until the other day that, for some reason, I decided to go through my AP list and again noticed that NGE was marked as "stalled". Looking back, I can't believe it has taken me 14 years to finish NGE. So can anybody guess what I'll be finally doing this spring break? lol

    Sorry for the long story (for those of you that read it) but I felt like I needed to share that. If any of you have had a similar scenario, feel free to share it.

    I can't beat a record like 14 years lol, but I used to watch Naruto on tv about 6 years ago before it stopped airing on the only channel I knew of. It wasn't till 3 or 4 years later that I discovered anime on the internet and finally watched it from start to finish

    I can't bring myself to finish Vampire Knight season two. I raged towards the end and left it hanging about two episodes left.

    Almost two years now I think.

    Yeah 14 years is crazy and I still can't believe it myself but even 6 years is a long time. The good thing about it is that its only 26 episodes and not 200+ lol

    Yeah, I had my issues with Vampire knight too. It seemed too fast paced for me, like they were trying to shove a lot of things into an episode. So why did you rage, if yo don't mind me asking?

    @obdriver6

    Hehe it's a rather silly reason actually. Some spoilers obviously

    I wanted Zero to win the heart of Yuuki so badly it hurt. So when little miss pretty boy pureblood vampire (forgot his name) somehow wins Yuuki over (with a few surprise revelations about Yuuki's past and all) I just raged quit like a schoolgirl. I was at my weakest point at the time you must understand.
    I know the show is just probably following the manga and all but... COME ON MAN!

    lol anyway my sad story of an illogical rage quit :)

    @doomguy ok, I see

    Well you have to understand that Zero can never be with Yuuki  because she is a vampire and you know how Zero feel about them. Also it makes sense that Yuuki and Kaname ( forgot his name too and I had to look it up lol) would end up together since they are brother and sister and I don't mean it romantically. I also hate it when you think two character are gonna end up together in the end and they don't....... it just messes you up. So don't worry, I've had the same feeling and it suck but what can you do.

    Yeah pretty much. If the show was awesome or something I could have sat through the...pain:).

    Wasn't terrible though. Just not to my liking.

    @Doomguy True but if you were that far in, you should have just finished it

    @Noobs yeah, thats long. Have you finished it or are you still in the process of finish it?

    UPDATE: Well spring break came and went and I still didn't get to see Neon Genesis (;_; ......at this rate, I hope this hiatus doesn't turn into 15 years.

    I think my longest hiatus is with One Piece. I'm still up to episode 153 and still can't be bothered to watch the rest of it, as it's reached a rather dull point in the series. So I think it has been about 3 years now? I keep picking it up, then dropping it. But, my god, how could you not have finished Neon Genesis Evangelion!? The story is so gripping and awesome! :eek:

    @noobs don't make it too long cause you'll end up like me XD

    @veritasodiumparit To tell you the truth, I think One Piece is too long for me. I remember watching it in 4kids and then on Toonami and I enjoyed it some stuff happened and I stopped watching it, next thing I knew they were at 150 episodes and then 300 and know they are at over 600 so I'm done with One Piece .......for now. I may watch it later but not anytime soon........ And don't remind me cause I know the story is awesome and I hate myself for not finishing it but hopefully I will soon ........maybe? :(

    Well, I have to admit, I feel like I am losing the will to watch anime/finding the time these days. I haven't completed a series for a few months now. I start watching an anime, then end up not bothering to finish it. I just can't find anything that is gripping anymore. Night Raid 1930 seems too Shonen for me now.

    Yeah I feel the same way. The only way that I'll finish an anime now it seems is if it's really short, I really like it (and even then it'll take me months to do) or I said I'd finish it to someone who wanted me to watch it. I'm not a huge anime fan to begin with. I like it quite a bit but it's not my favorite type of media. I think the reason I don't is that I don't like a lot of the whiny, creepy fanbase, but then again in order for me to notice they have to be really f***ing whiny and creepy for me to care xD

    @VeritasOdiumParit @Heizengard Sadly I'm in the same boat too. Lately I haven't watched as much anime as I use to. The last series I completed took me about 2 months which would normally take me 3 weeks tops and thats with 1 or 2 other series'. Don't get me wrong I still love anime and get my weekly fix every time I watch Toonami but thats about it............ Actually now that I think about it, I have been playing to many computer games so maybe thats the problem but it could also be all the planning and trips to Cali I've taken in the last month or it can even be the weather since it is starting to get hot ........... IDK too many variables lol ... but seriously I need to start watching more anime and so should you guys. Try rewatching an old series you really loved and maybe that would get you in the mood to watch more anime, it worked for me.
