North American anime licensing company Sentai Filmworks announced on Thursday that it has licensed the television anime adaptation of Tachi's four-panel yuri Sakura Trick manga. The company will stream the series digitally with a home video release to follow. Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs.

The story revolves around Haruka (voiced by Haruka Tomatsu) and Yū (Yuka Iguchi), two girls who go to a high school that is slated to be shut down in three years. To share "something special" between them, they share a kiss, and their relationship deepens from that moment onward.

Other cast members include Yuuka Aisaka as Kotone Noda, Hiromi Igarashi as Shizuku Minami, Mai Fuchigami as Kaede Ikeno, and Megumi Toda as Yuzu Iizuka. Additionally, Saki Fujita plays Mitsuki Sonoda, Momo Asakura plays Sumi Otokawa, and Yurika Endō plays Rina Sakai.

Ken'ichi Ishikura (D.C.III ~Da Capo III~, Hidamari Sketch × Hoshimittsu, Natsu no Arashi! Akinai-chū) is directing the series and is handling the series composition at Studio DEEN. Kyuta Sakai (Humanity Has Declined, Steins;Gate, When They Cry - Higurashi) is designing the characters. Ryosuke Nakanishi (D.C.III ~Da Capo III~, Kuroko's Basketball, High School DxD) is composing the series' music, and Satoki Iida (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, Danganronpa The Animation, Amagami SS+) is serving as sound director with the sound studio Dax Production.

Tomatsu and Iguchi are performing the ending theme song "Kiss (and) Love."

Tachi launched the manga in Hobunsha's Manga Time Kirara Miracle! in 2011, and Houbunsha published the second volume last February.

The series premiered in Japan on TBS on January 9.

    Oh, you mean my reaction?
I'm happy it got licensed, although I was sort of expecting it to happen.
But I'm not excited over it because of one flaw; I live in Australia.
Sentai region lock their products I believe, and since Australia and America have different codes it wouldn't work on my DVD player.
Which would make my purchase worthless.
There is also the fact Australian companies very rarely pick up Sentai releases.
I can see maybe Hanabee picking this up considering they are the only ones willing to pick up Sentai products, but anyone else is a big no.
Madman only picks up FUNimation releases, and Siren Visual like to go for the ones that aren't licensed (e.g. Dennou Coil and Higurashi Kai).
I believe I'll pre-order the volumes from the Japanese Amazon website and support the show like that.

However that being said I can still react the way I wanted to being the Yuri fan I am.

Well this is good. Sakura Trick is shaping up to be a really nice "smile" series, so it's nice to see it get a dub so it can broaden its scope of fans. Definitely a deserving series to say the least.
