North American anime and video game distributor NIS America (NISA) announced on Wednesday that it has licensed the first season of the Haiyore! Nyaruko-san television anime series under the title Nyaruko: Crawling with Love!.

NISA will release the 12-episode series in a premium edition on April 15 in a two Blu-ray Disc set with English subtitles for US$64.99. The release will include a "Nyarlathotep-tested alien-approved" hardcover art book with an episode guide, character information, and full-color illustrations. Video extras will include a clean opening and ending and Japanese trailers.

The show's story centers around Nyaruko, a formless Cthulhu deity of chaos (Nyarlathotep) who can take on the shape of a seemingly ordinary silver-haired girl. Mahiro Yasaka is a normal high school student who is chased by aliens one night, until Nyaruko saves him.

Xebec animated the series and Tsuyoshi Nagasawa (Kyo no Gononi, MM!, To Love-Ru) directed the series. The series stars Kana Asumi as Nyaruko, Eri Kitamura as Mahiro Yasaka, Miyu Matsuki as Kuko, and Rie Kugimiya as Hasuta.

Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired last year under the title Nyarko-san: Another Crawling Chaos. The series inspired a second season, Haiyore! Nyaruko-san W, that Crunchyroll also streamed as it aired earlier this year.
