Ended Second Annual Pumpkin Contest

Just a tip for everyone, your local craft store sells foam pumpkins. Craft pumpkins can be carved just like the real thing. The interior foam is the same color as a fresh pumpkin, so the effect is very realistic. Use a sharp knife, and go slowly. You can display your creation year after year and not have to worry about pumpkin rot.


That's a really good tip. I might have to see if I can get one on my way home from school on day. It won't be as smelly as a real pumpkin and be a lot easier to explain to my parents why I came home with one. I should do a cute Komori carving if I can.

 

Heres this. Homunculus Pumpkin. The one with the note doesnt look as good because it was a day later when it was getting droopy.

 

Hi! This is my recent, (and first!) pumpkin carving. I actually carved a castle/town, Marissa (from Touhou), and a flying dagger all on the same pumpkin, although I don't have a very good picture of it. >_<

Anyways, the first two actually has the required "Dubtopian Review" while the two latter ones are just Marissa from different angle/side. (Oh, and it was also taken earlier during the day. I found out about this contest during early evening and rushed to get pictures that fits the requirement, so that's why it seems darker in the first two. ^^'' ) I hope you like it!! I used a reference from the actual Bad Apple PV, but the tools I used were rather.. inadequate (at first anyways). I found a better tool halfway carving Marissa.... I'm glad it turned out well still, though. ^^

Well, its not the best but I think its pretty cool!

 

My entry with my own personal character. I had a hard time with the lightning, but it was the only way I could get a decent pic, lol. I added another without the sign, but just for quality purposes. Hope you like it, and I wish luck to all the other talanted contestants.
