The official website for Gekijō-ban Mahō Shōjo Madoka Magica Shinpen: Hangyaku no Monogatari (Madoka Magica The Movie -Rebellion-), the brand-new third Madoka Magica film, revealed on Monday that a collaboration is being held between the film and the Monogatari Series Second Season anime. Characters from both franchises will share the screen in four "manner videos" to teach moviegoers proper etiquette.

The collaboration will consist of four skits, written by Monogatari novel series author NisiOisin, that inform movie-goers in theaters all around Japan about theater manners. A different weekly skit will be screened before the new Madoka film over four weeks:

    1st Week: October 26~November 1 - Ōgi Oshino Version
2nd Week: November 2~November 8 – Karen Araragi & Tsukihi Araragi Version ("Karen, Tsukihi Araragi, and the Witch")
3rd Week: November 9~November 15 – Mayoi Hachikuji Version ("Mayoi and the Magical Girls")
4th Week: November 16~November 22 – Hitagi Senjōgahara Version ("Hitagi and Kyubey")
In addition to the movie theater manner shorts, a special interview between Gen Urobuchi and NisiOisin will be released at a later time.

The third Madoka Magica film will open in Japan on October 26. The film will then open in the United States, Canada, and France this winter. Aniplex announced at Japan Expo in Paris that the film will debut in France in November. Aniplex aims to release the third film in still more countries worldwide, just as it did for the first two films.

Akiyuki Shinbo helms both franchises at the anime studio SHAFT.
