A moon base probably would make for less expensive take offs to other parts of the system...

The only reason I like chromosome and general gene therapy is because the medical industry's ridiculous overuse of toxic chemicals as "treatments" that do more harm than good. So it's great to see enhancements in this field.

It's more effective on the targeted cells and most of the time at the dosages prescribed, the effect to normal cells are minimal....
    Gene therapy is great though.

    repairing DNA

This phrasing is off to me. You could say repairing gene products or replacing DNA, but 9/10 they don't use the native sequence, and thus it is not repaired.
I guess it's me bringing a certain amount of baggage to an anime forum discussion though.

sperm and egg cells created from skin cells eh? we're going to miss the good old days where coitus was required to conceive and children weren't born in test tubes. still, this bolds well for the homosexual community as well as those who are unable to conceive due to medical defects.

There are still going to be those people who are going to want to do it the old fashion way (I will be one of those people). On another note it will be CREEPY for the homosexual community to have kids at all especially like this.

New brain cells from stem cells would be great for people that suffered some kind of injury to the brain. Those new brain cells would replace those that were lost when the original trauma to the brain happened.

The article regarding brain-to-brain interfacing made me think: this could lead to a method for enhancing human memory, if you could transmit thoughts and knowledge to an external device, transform it into data, and broadcast it back on request, it would eliminate 90% of study time!

Also, I have a bit of science to share myself today:  New Discovery Simplifies Quantum Physics- http://www.fromquarkstoquasars.com/new-discovery-simplifies-quantum-physics/

Basically, this new model reduces a 500 page equation to a single sheet of paper, making calculations in quantum physics doable by hand- assuming you know your stuff and are pretty clever.
