The official website for the Märchen Mädchen television anime announced on Wednesday that the premieres of the anime's 11th and 12th episodes have been delayed to this December. The release method for these two final episodes' premieres has yet to be determined.

In addition, the third to sixth volumes of the anime's Blu-ray Disc releases have also been delayed, with plans to improve the animation quality on some of the episodes. In particular, the website cites the sixth, seventh, and ninth episodes (on the third, fourth, and fifth Blu-ray Disc volumes, respectively) as requiring a large number of corrections.

The new release dates for the volumes are as follows:
    • Volume 3: August 29 (originally June 27)
    • Volume 4: September 28 (originally July 27)
    • Volume 5: October 31 (originally August 29)
    • Volume 6: January 30, 2019 (originally September 28)

The first volume already shipped on April 25, and the second volume is slated for May 30.

The television anime premiered on January 11. The anime's ninth and 10th episodes were delayed to March 22 and March 29, respectively, in order to improve the animation quality. (Instead, the anime broadcast the first two episodes again on March 8 and March 15.) The official website announced in late March that the fate of the anime's 11th and 12th episodes will be announced as soon as they are decided.

Crunchyroll streamed the first 10 episodes as they aired in Japan, and it describes the story:

This is a story about girls (called "Maedchen") who are selected by “Origin”. They attend school of witchcraft located all over the world to wield their magic and become first-rate “Origin Masters”. Their goal is to win at the annual Hexennacht competition, where representatives of each school compete in their abilities to wield their magic. The winner of the competition gets to have one wish magically granted. Due to lack of members, there were concerns that Japan might not be able to attend the annual competition this year. However, things start to change when one day Shizuka Tsuchimikado, the leader of Japan meets Hazuki Kagimura, a high school student who loves reading and daydreaming. For some reason, Hazuki, a loner who doesn't have many friends is chosen by the Origin “Cinderella” which possesses strong power. She begins her new life at school of witchcraft. The girls practice to wield their magic with “Cinderella” to win the championship while sometimes they enjoy soaking in hot spring baths; their battles are about to start!
