Nintendo Switch

What do u guys think of the Switch so far? Are you getting one on Friday? what games would u get for it if u get one?

I may not like the name for the console hybrid, but i am definitely looking forward to picking mine up this week. I'm likely getting Bomberman R and Fast RMX as my launch titles.

 

Im not getting a switch [as much as I want to] until fire emblem warriors comes out. That's really the only game I want to play for the switch right now.

Also, Mario Kart Deluxe. That too.

 

I'm definitely going to get a Nintendo Switch, but I'm going to be waiting a while on that. I've already put money down on Horizon: Zero Dawn for the PS4, which is coming out in 2 days (28th for me). Plus, they'll probably have some special edition Switches later in the year or next year. I'm hoping for a Zelda edition Switch.

 

I'm probably not gonna buy it until a pokemon game is out and Switch exclusive.

I'm tempted to do a really long Nintendo rant but I think I did that before and all that would do is ruffle some feathers. Let's put it this way...
I just want Metroid Prime. I don't care what they call it, it just better be like Metroid Prime. Not that pixel hunt "find wally" picture game that was Other M.

Never really got into Prime. Personally I'd like to see another side-scrolling Metroid in the vein of Super Metroid. But it feels like that series is pretty much dead.

I will probably buy a Switch just to play Zelda, if nothing else. But I'll likely hold off and see what other games become avaialsble and try to find the console at a discount around the holidays.

Brief thoughts on the Switch -- I feel like Nintendo has done a better job on marketing it than they did with the Wii U. It seems like artificial scarcity may be an issue at launch, which is a problem seen with both Amiibo and the NES Classic and Nintendo needs to cut that shit out. The online service looks like a joke. I like the design of the console and I like that it's portable, although I do not think it would make a suitable replacement for handhelds like the 3DS. I like that it seems as though there will be more third party support for the Switch than we've seen on a Nintendo console in a long time - hopefully they can keep that up.

That's it, for now. I'll probably have more thoughts on the console itself once I get my hands on one.

Nothing makes eyes sparkle for Nintendo fandom like a good ol' Zelda-themed console. Mario can die as many times as it takes for a Zelda-themed Switch to be released. lol Marios everywhere must be sacrificed in all forms of Mario games!

Also, a Square-Enix title will be available for the Switch at launch. I am Setsuna will be available March 3rd (at least for the US, not sure if its a global date or not).

 

Probably will be global launch since it's been out for awhile on ps4.

 

first handheld only switch game. thughts on restricted games being handheld only on a hybrid console?
