Rayden's Creations

I am an amateur artist like some who are on this forum. I have been working on art for over 7 years now attempting to become better and hopefully get commissions. I am not as active as I once was with art, having to place it on the back burner and get a job that will actually put food on the table. However, my aspirations for my art are still there. I still make sketches hoping that my Muse will kick in and allow me to draw uninhibited.

Without further adieu. I shall post my first for you all. Feedback and comments are welcome. I have thick skin.

Please do note, that I am a pen artist. Most of what I do is in Black and white. Some pictures look like they have little to no background, but like my first image, It is hard to tell. If I were to put it in color, there still wouldn't be much since the current landscape is snow.

This picture was made with a combination of Ink and Graphite. I used Ink to make the hard lines and graphite for many of the other details. It's a little rough. I'll be offering to do this one as a "Draw This Again" on Deviant Art soon.

Hewoo, Fellow DeviantArt member! Haha! You call yourself amateur? Looks good to mii! I could never grasp ink, it just got messy... Never give up this skill.

 

This is Hallie. She's a summoner/black mage in my series. Her relationships between the main characters is fairly complicated. Check my DA for more.

@Partyninja I have some experience in doing fan art. I have done some Original Fan Art as Well. Much of my creations are not uploaded or scanned though.



As for commissions. I'll do my first for free but after that I'll need to charge. Art materials aren't cheap.

Thanks man. I try to always be increasing my abilities. I'm currently in the transition between pen and ink to digital. It's a rough transition.

 

A little bit of fan art I did. I call it Rukia's Dream.

 

A little something from my own universe. This picture depicts 4 of my characters in one setting. Quentyn and Saiya have returned from a Hunt together and Saiya is beginning to have feelings for Quentyn. Little do they know Saiya's current girlfriend (Hallie) comes around the corner and sees them together. Also on the far right you have Ise, who can only be seen by Quentyn since she pretty much lives in his head.

 

I wondering, do you have any tips with background/environmental/landscapes? I'm trying to expand my own skills and really suck in that category...

 

Ehch... It took me a long time to even remotely do backgrounds. With digital it's easier because you can use layers. I've always added background as an afterthought due to me not knowing what I usually want to draw. My sister would be the one to ask about backgrounds. I'm pretty noobish when it comes to background.

 

For all of you Fairy Tail fans out there. Have some Natsu. :3

First I will apologize for digging up an old thread. It has been a long time since I have posted anything, but I think It's time I added some of my newer creations to this record. Much of what I have done, I haven't uploaded digitally because of my inability to use a scanner (for now). So, Some low res pictures of my artwork will have to do. Once I have access to a scanner, I will reupload with better pixel rate and clarity. I have four pictures to post and I will attempt to post them in a way that gives them justice. It may take a few days or even a few weeks due to my internet situation but I will eventually post all of them. I will need to resize them in my photo editing program to allow the upload. So please, I do hope ya'll tune in when the posts begin. I am eager for imput from my fellow artists and otakus.
